So here’s an announcement worth a good laugh, 20th Century Fox has announced that James Cameron‘s Avatar will be re-released in August.
Apparently the number of 3D capable screens has “exploded” leaving the studio to re-release the film so more movie-goers can see in in 3D.
Here’s the companies official statement:
“Since – and largely as of result of – Avatar’s release last December, the number of available digital 3D screens has exploded, and moviegoers who missed experiencing the film in 3D, as well as fans that want to return to Pandora again, will now have that opportunity.”
The “limited engagement” does feature 8 minutes of new footage! Hardly worth an extra $10-$15 to see the movie again and will be re-released only for Digital-3D and IMAX 3D based theaters.
