Oh, my, my, my! Erykah Badu’s newest album, New Amerykah Part Two: Return of The Ankh came out on the 30th, and it was a momentous occasion for Badu fans such as myself.
We’ve waited long enough. The neo-soul singer postponed the release of her follow-up album to 2008’s New Amerykah Part One (4th World War) because she was busy filming the indie flick Bobby Zero with Mos Def and giving birth to a baby daughter.
She describes her latest 12-track album as “spiritual and emotional.” Just like her previous successful albums, this one does not disappoint. Her soulful voice and signature style keeps you lost in time and space.
The tunes I’m downloading are “Gone Baby, Don’t Be Long,” “Love,” and “Fall In Love.”
Listen to the tracks on her official website.
