Before Madonna was a bonafide superstar, she had to endure New York’s evils.
“I was raped. The first year I lived in New York was crazy,” she shares to Howard Stern on his radio show.
“I was going to a dance class and the door was locked and I needed money for the payphone. [A man] gave it to me… he was a very friendly guy. I trusted everybody.” she explains.
Afterwards, the pop star was persuaded to make the phone call at the guy’s place, where the rape took place.
With co-host Robin Quivers, Howard asked Madge if she did something about it, like reporting it to the police.
“You’ve already been violated. It’s just not worth it. It’s too much humiliation.”
