Two of the ’80s top pop singers Debbie Gibson and Tiffany are teaming up for what is sure to be the must see (for laughs) movie of 2011, Mega Python vs. Gatoroid.
The Saturday night original movie is summed up by The Hollywood Reporter:
Gibson will play a fanatical animal-rights activist who frees illegally imported exotic snakes from pet stores, sending them into the Everglades, where they grow to mega sizes. Tiffany will play an overzealous park ranger who uses dangerous methods to save endangered alligators. In the script, the pair brawl at a party, then take matters outside into the swamp…”
It’s not the first time the woman have worked with Syfy, but it is their first time working together after Tiffany came up with the idea and asked the network to see if Gibson would be willing to work with her.
Thomas Vitale, Syfy’s Executive Vice-President of Programming and Original Movies said of the movie and the pop rivalry that existed at one time:
“In the script, the pair brawl at a party, then take matters outside into the swamp. They loved the idea of taking this perceived rivalry and having some fun with it.”
Mega Python vs. Gatoroid will arrive sometime in 2011.
