Whoopi Goldberg has ended her Sister Act musical run early after her mother Emma suffered a stroke earlier this week. Goldberg was set to revive her movie role while playing Mother Superior in the musicals London shows at the end of the month.
According to the shows producers she returned to the state’s on Friday after learning about her mothers condition:
“The thoughts and sincere best wishes of the producers and the entire ‘Sister Act’ company are with her at this difficult time,” said the shows producers in a public statement.
Aside from her role in the musical, Goldberg is also one of the show’s producer.
Sister act is also due to arrive on Broadway in 2011.
