If your a fan of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic The Sound Of Music you’ll want to tune into The Oprah Winfrey Show on October 29th when the original cast will make a very special appearance.
According to Harpo Productions:
Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer will both appear alongside the stars who played the fictional von Trapp family in the Oscar-winning 1965 movie musical.
Andrews is now 74 years old, while Plummer is 81 and is best remembered for his role as Captain von Trapp.
According to PopCrunch:
The cast is expected to discuss the impact of the film and how their involvement in it shaped their lives. Some of the real von Trapp Children, who travel the world performing the songs made famous by the movie, will also appear and pay tribute to the film on the TV show.
The reunion took 40 years to happen because Plummer felt like he was typecast as an uptight leading man after his role in the musical.
“It is not a film which I detest. The press have always got that wrong. I didn’t hate the movie at all. I just didn’t think my role was terribly exciting,” Plummer told Reuters earlier this year.
I hope they sing “Doe A Deer.”
