Nancy Cartwright, the voice actress behind Bart Simpson is being sued because of a failed construction project by her fiances construction company. The project, which saw funds diverted to the Church of Scientology is said to have fallen through according to TMZ.
According to the suit, the American Safety Casualty Insurance Company says Cartwright’s fiance Stephen Brackett was hired to fix up a restaurant in 2008, work they covered as part of an insurance policy. That work was never completed and the ASCIC claims Cartwright agreed to cover any lost costs if the project when awry.
ASCIC says Brackett only performed part of the tasks he was paid to do and then sent the money had received to the Church of Scientology, an organization both he and Cartwright belong to.
Brackett committed suicide half way through the project.
According to claims by the ASCIC the abandoned project cost them $260,000 to complete after Brackett’s suicide.
The ASCIC wants the original $260,000 in expenses plus far more in damages.
