Crystal Bowersox, last season’s American Idol runner-up will release her freshman album Farmer’s Daughter on December 14.
Bowersox wrote 8 of the songs on her 12 track album, while her husband Brian Walked wrote “Mason” and Bowersox co-wrote “Lonely” with David Ryan Harris, one of the collaborators who works closely with John Mayer.
According to PopCrunch:
Crystal will [also] perform “Hold On,” a song written by former Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. That track is slated to be the albums’ first single. The album is produced by David Bendeth, who’s worked with Kaiser Chiefs, Mayday Parade, and Paramore. Farmer’s Daughter even contains a cover of Buffalo Springfield’s 1967 classic “For What It’s Worth.”
According to a Jive Records news release:
“The 12 tracks, 10 of them written or co-written by Bowersox, showcase her strong songwriting skills and her desire to infuse her lyrics with that raw emotion of someone who has lived. One very special song is ‘Mason,’ a song Bowersox co-wrote with her husband Brian Walker, which they performed together at their recent nuptials.”
I’m actually excited for this release, what do you think about Bowersox? Will you be buying her CD or downloading her songs on December 14?
