Remember last February when US Vogue editor Anna Wintour caused a ruckus for Milan Fashion Week?
The famous editor announced that she could attend only three of the seven days of Fashion Week, causing several Italian designers to make last-minute changes in their schedules.
Haute couture houses chaotically reorganized their shows to coincide with her three-day visit. “Anna Wintour, the woman who holds Italian fashion in the palm of her hand,” ran a headline in Corriere della Sera, Italy’s most respected broadsheet.
Well, times have changed. According to Coco Perez, Italian designers will no longer let fashion’s most iconic editor get in the way of the program. Designers such as Armani and Prada have agreed that they will not accept anything less than a seven-day event.
Even Giorgio Armani reportedly said, “Italians are perfectly able to assert [them]selves without fear.”
Meow! Is she losing her grip on the fashion world? I wonder how Nuclear Wintour reacted.
