Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Seacrest debuted the newest season of American Idol with ratings down by 13 percent compared to 2010’s show.
According to industry numbers, 26.1 million viewers tuned in to check out the newest season of singers and no doubt the new judging panel. While those numbers are considerably lower than last season, American Idol still easily won the night.
The ratings were the lowest debut since Summer 2002.
Day two of Auditions air on Thursday night at 8PM on Fox where we are still sure to see decent ratings, after all the show is still American Idol, regardless if Simon Cowell is sitting on the panel or not.
What did you think about the show’s first night with the new judging panel. While I missed Cowell’s remarks, I couldn’t help but think Steve Tyler and Jennifer Lopez were qualified enough to know a good singer when they heard and saw them.
