<p>The stars usually save their best threads for the biggest awards show of the year—<a href="http://oscar.go.com/">The Academy Awards</a>. See which women stood out in the Oscar 2010 red carpet.</p>
<p><a href="http://view.picapp.com/default.aspx?term=rachel mcadams&#038;iid=8194689" target="_blank"><img src="http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/8/c/5/7/Photo_by_W6005YAADstarmaxinccom_6c6f.JPG?adImageId=11093513&#038;imageId=8194689" width="380" height="539" border="0" alt="Photo by: W6005Y/AAD/starmaxinc.com 2010 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 3/7/10 Rachel McAdams at the"/></a><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/PicAppPIS/JavaScript/PisV4.js"></script><br />
Spring is coming! Rachel McAdams’ pastel-patterned Elie Saab Haute couture gown took the attention away from the dark, monochrome hues of the lingering Winter season.</p>
<p><a href="http://view.picapp.com/default.aspx?term=jennifer lopez&#038;iid=8195822" target="_blank"><img src="http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/9/6/0/0/82nd_Annual_Academy_b8e9.jpg?adImageId=11092051&#038;imageId=8195822" width="396" height="594" border="0" alt="82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals"/></a><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/PicAppPIS/JavaScript/PisV4.js"></script><br />
The 40-year-old singer/actress still has her famous curves. J.Lo flaunted them in this Armani Privé gown with a dramatic train, Ferragamo pumps, and Cartier diamonds.</p>
<p><a href="http://view.picapp.com/default.aspx?term=carey mulligan&#038;iid=8195635" target="_blank"><img src="http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/c/9/5/3/Oscars_2010_e1af.jpg?adImageId=11094245&#038;imageId=8195635" width="380" height="680" border="0" alt="Oscars 2010 - RED CARPET"/></a><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/PicAppPIS/JavaScript/PisV4.js"></script><br />
I’m not usually a fan of celebs who wear black in the red carpet, because it’s such a safe, cliché choice, but Carey Mulligan made me do a 360 with her black Swarovski-encrusted Prada. </p>
<p><a href="http://view.picapp.com/default.aspx?term=maggie gyllenhaal&#038;iid=8195685" target="_blank"><img src="http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/f/8/d/4/82nd_Annual_Academy_b023.JPG?adImageId=11094273&#038;imageId=8195685" width="380" height="562" border="0" alt="82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals"/></a><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/PicAppPIS/JavaScript/PisV4.js"></script>pt><br />
It’s great to see actresses stay away from solid-hued dresses for change. Maggie Gyllenhaal, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, wore a brushstroke-print Dries Van Noten gown accessorized with vintage Fred Leighton jewels.</p>
<p><a href="http://view.picapp.com/default.aspx?term=cameron diaz&#038;iid=8195213" target="_blank"><img src="http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/1/6/4/2/82nd_Annual_Academy_fea3.jpg?adImageId=11092574&#038;imageId=8195213" width="381" height="594" border="0" alt="82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals"/></a><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/PicAppPIS/JavaScript/PisV4.js"></script><br />
Cameron Diaz opted for old Hollywood glamour in this Oscar de la Renta gown matched with Cartier jewels.</p>
<p><a href="http://view.picapp.com/default.aspx?term=kristen stewart&#038;iid=8193365" target="_blank"><img src="http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/b/e/4/e/82nd_Annual_Academy_357f.jpg?adImageId=11092863&#038;imageId=8193365" width="379" height="594" border="0" alt="82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals"/></a><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/PicAppPIS/JavaScript/PisV4.js"></script><br />
Presenter Kristen Stewart surprised red carpet critics with her feminine custom-made dress. This Monique Lhuillier navy trumpet gown was a refreshing change from Kristen’s usually boyish/rocker outfits.</p>
<p><a href="http://view.picapp.com/default.aspx?term=vera farmiga&#038;iid=8196062" target="_blank"><img src="http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/8/9/9/f/82nd_Annual_Academy_537c.jpg?adImageId=11092978&#038;imageId=8196062" width="371" height="594" border="0" alt="82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals"/></a><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/PicAppPIS/JavaScript/PisV4.js"></script><br />
Ruffled would be an understatement for Vera Formiga’s choice of gown. The Best Supporting Actress nominee’s Marchesa gown stood out from the crowd. </p>
<p><a href="http://view.picapp.com/default.aspx?term=diane kruger&#038;iid=8192976" target="_blank"><img src="http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/4/9/3/5/82nd_Annual_Academy_c652.jpg?adImageId=11093021&#038;imageId=8192976" width="357" height="594" border="0" alt="82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals"/></a><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/PicAppPIS/JavaScript/PisV4.js"></script><br />
Diane Kruger was Chanel’s muse that night. Her ruffled Chanel Haute Couture Collection gown accessorized with Chanel jewelry gave her look a vintage vibe.</p>
<p><a href="http://view.picapp.com/default.aspx?term=anna kendrick&#038;iid=8195871" target="_blank"><img src="http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/c/8/4/d/82nd_Annual_Academy_d822.jpg?adImageId=11093426&#038;imageId=8195871" width="396" height="594" border="0" alt="82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals"/></a><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/PicAppPIS/JavaScript/PisV4.js"></script><br />
I loved Best Supporting Actress nominee Anna Kendrick’s flow-y Elie Saabe Couture gown. She accessorized well with her Judith Leiber clutch and Kwiat diamonds.</p>
<p><a href="http://view.picapp.com/default.aspx?term=elizabeth banks&#038;iid=8195595" target="_blank"><img src="http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/0/e/2/d/82nd_Annual_Academy_a84b.JPG?adImageId=11093559&#038;imageId=8195595" width="380" height="540" border="0" alt="82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals"/></a><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/PicAppPIS/JavaScript/PisV4.js"></script><br />
Elizabeth Banks’ glamorous gown was no gray area. Her sparkling Fred Leighton jewelry looked great with her ruffled Versace number.</p>
<p><a href="http://view.picapp.com/default.aspx?term=demi moore&#038;iid=8194882" target="_blank"><img src="http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/e/0/a/c/82nd_Annual_Academy_5368.JPG?adImageId=11093860&#038;imageId=8194882" width="380" height="518" border="0" alt="82nd Annual Academy Awards Red Carpet Arrivals"/></a><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/PicAppPIS/JavaScript/PisV4.js"></script><br />
Demi Moore’s fashion choices are usually hit-or-miss. What a relief to see that this night was a hit. Her Atelier Versace gown flaunted her fab figure. </p>

<p>Oh, Sandy! The 45-year-old actress was honored and dishonored in the same weekend. She took home the Worst Actress trophy for her movie <em><a href="http://www.allaboutstevemovie.com/">All About Steve</a></em> at the <a href="http://www.razzies.com/">Golden Raspberry Awards</a> on Saturday, March 6th, a day before bagging the Best Actress award at the <a href="http://oscar.go.com/">Oscars </a>for her role in <em><a href="http://www.theblindsidemovie.com/">The Blind Side</a></em>.</p>

<em>Sandra Bullock at the Oscar Awards last night</em></p>
<p>At the Razzies, Sandra was given a standing ovation when she picked up her award; she was the first Worst Actress recipient to actually attend the show since Halle Berry was shamed for her role in 2005’s<em> Catwoman</em>. </p>
<p>The good-humored actress was armed with a box of All About Steve DVDs, as she told the crowd they all need to watch her performance again because she’s not convinced she deserves the dishonor. She got another trophy that night for Worst Screen Couple with her co-star Bradley Cooper.</p>
<p>The Oscars was a different story. In her Best Actress acceptance speech, she paid tribute to the other nominees—Gabby Sidibe, Carey Mulligan, Helen Mirren, and Meryl Streep. She also gave an emotional tribute to her late mother, Helga Bullock. View the full transcript of her speech <a href="http://www.altfg.com/blog/awards/sandra-bullock-oscar-acceptance-speech-949/">here</a>. </p>
<p>Congratulations, Sandy—for both awards! </p>
