As things turn out, even as the movie has not been released yet, Josh Hutcherson is already talking about filming the sequel to the first movie. Hutcherson plays the role of Peeta Mellark, one of the love interests of Katniss Everdeen. I shall not say more to avoid spoilers for those of you who have no clue about how the story ends!

Hutcherson is no stranger to movies, although he is relatively unknown. He has played roles in movies such as Journey to the Center of the Earth and The Polar Express. He says that the future is looking bright about the second movie, Catching Fire. It’s just a matter of seeing how Hunger Games will do and that by fall, they should start filming.

That is good news for Hunger Games fans, isn’t it?

It looks like middle earth won’t be seeing Aragorn in the two-part prequel series of The Hobbit. This may be much to the disappointment of Viggo Mortensen’s fans should the director and producer of the said film version of the J.R.R Tolkien’s novel retain its genuine storyline.
Peter Jackson’s Lord of The Rings Trilogy has made Lord Aragorn quite the ladies’ man even in contemporary times, as he’s got even this middle earth woman writing this article openly expressing that she wouldn’t mind if the Hollywood version of the classic novel deviates a bit from the written version.

However, Mortensen admits that he does not expect a reprisal of his role although he was approached by Peter Jackson for a possible appearance in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The actor reveals his willingness to have another go at his role, but it all depends on any last minute plans to include his character.
For those who are quite familiar with the written version, many would rather that Hollywood stick to its true storyline. Some familiar faces from Lord of The Rings are still in the roster such as Cate Blanchet, Elijah Wood, Ian Mckellen, Christopher Lee and Orlando Bloom.
As it is, Lord Aragorn is known to have lived more than 200 years in the book, but that doesn’t take his character back to the time of the Hobbits. It may irk some Tolkien fans if the film version takes a whole new spin on this but, if it rakes in more bucks from women eager to catch another glimpse of this handsome King, then let’s leave it up to Hollywood to do it’s magic.
“The Hobbit: An unexpected Journey” is slated to show in theatres December 14, 2012 while its 2nd part “ There and Back Again” is right on schedule for December 13, 2013.

Tranformers: Dark of the Moon is doing quite well in the box office even without the sexy sultry Megan Fox steaming up the screen. Many are surely disappointed with her absence as the actress sure has had many of her fans wanting and waiting to see her smoke up the screen and revel in the fact that geeky and nerdy college boys still have hopes of having a hot girlfriend who knows her cars and engines!

Word has it that Stephen Spielberg gave actress Megan Fox the pink slip and fired her from the third sequel of the Transformers series. This comes a year after when Fox claimed she decided to leave the movie. The director himself, Michael Bay, spoke on this matter saying that it was Spielberg who put his foot down with a decision to give Fox the axe.  Reports have put the actress on a bad light, as she was cited for very unprofessional behaviour on set.

Finally breaking his silence about the issues , Michael Bay specifically pointed that incident when Fox threw comments about him that had the executive producer, Steven Spielber,g decide to fire her right then and there.

Megan Fox was quoted on an interview with Wonderland Magazine in 2009 saying-- "He's like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he's a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he's not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he's so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all. And it's endearing to watch him."

Well, that certainly was enough to have made her cross that line and do the walk of shame on the set.

Bay, however has expressed that he wasn’t hurt over the comments but was rather bemused and says it was merely Fox’s personal character shining through in a not so good way. Her former on screen boyfriend Shia LaBeouf openly expressed how Fox suddenly developed this Spice Girl strength and woman empowerment “stuff”.

According to Labeouf, Michael Bay’s filming style was a no-frills no-fluff manner that Fox had a hard time accepting. He puts that his director seems to lack some tact with instructions and may have been what triggered the Hitler comment.

After all that drama, Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley replaced Megan Fox as Shia LaBeouf’s hot new sophisticated British accent girlfriend.  Certainly another eye candy on the set and just to add more steam on the screen is Dr,McDreamy, Patrick Dempsey!

“ The Mummy” chaser Rachel Weisz seems to have found her lost treasure in 43 year old Daniel Craig.

The couple secretly tied the knot in a hush hush ceremony which only had four people in attendance. Apart from Craig’s 18 year old daughter, Ella , Weisz also had her 4 yr old son Henry standing by. There were only two other friends who shared this blissful day in NewYork with the couple.

After a nine year relationship with “ Black Swan “ director Darren Aronofsky, the actors have finally broken their silence on their years of platonic friendship. Craig was also in a previous relationship and engaged to Satsuki Mitchell for five years.   Reports started buzzing in November 2010 when they there were first linked, as a result of their upcoming horror movie “ The Dream House”.

Craig and Weisz were also last spotted shopping at a Louis Vuitton store in London last March.

Both Weisz and Craig are currently doing a movie where they play husband in wife in “The Dream House”. True enough, this made things much more convenient for them to be linked in real time.

In case you’re having a hard time pinning a face to Daniel Craig, the actor is best known in his portrayal of the amorous dashing debonair, James Bond. Craig is up for the 23^rd movie series of James Bond entitled “ The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”. Although the sequel has been delayed due to some financial issues, progress on the film still hasn’t pegged a release date.

On the other hand, you can mark down horror movie popcorn dates for “The Dream House” in September.

Although Bloom’s  previous elf character isn’t written in J.R.R Tolkien’s original novel, Jackson is excited to reveal that Middle Earth will once more revel in Legolas’ presence.  The director can’t wait to work with Bloom and quips that as much as 10 years has passed by since Lord of The Rings brought Orlando’s stardom to great heights,  he doesn’t look a day older than the day he first wowed audiences as Legolas. That in itself, makes him a wonderful elf indeed!

With 14 years  sitting on the drawing board, The “Hobbit” prequel movies finally gets a move on things after getting buried in some set backs.  New Line Cinema had Peter Jackson filing suit against them for claims of lost revenue  related to The Fellowship of the Ring.

Taking on Guillermo del Torro as it’s new director three year later, conflicts in scheduling forced him to drop out of the project in May 2010 bringing Jackson back in his director’s chair in October of 2010.

As if that was enough hoopla surrounding the films, union disputes in New Zealand put the project on a tipped edge of relocating filming all the way to Europe. And just to put the cherry on the delay icing, Jackson suffered from a perforated ulcer and had to undergo surgery.

Now back in the good saddle, Jackson has his Facebook page beaming with images of him hanging out on the set of this much awaited prequel.  Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellan and Andy Serkis are also  reliving their previous roles from the epic trilogy of The Lord of The Rings. The Hobbit prequel has its plot centred on the characters of Bilbo and Frodo.

I wonder if they will wear ruby rings.

Tom just recently received the Humanitarian Award at the 2011 Wiesenthal Center National Tribute Dinner in Beverly Hills. The Jewish organization prouds itself for its human rights advocacy on confronting racism. The actor was cited and honored for being a dedicated philantrophist.

Now back to the music, 48 year old Cruise is playing the role of Stacie Jaxx and excitedly claims he has been learning a lot of things lately to do his role some good justice. Having no musical experience with a guitar, he has been juggling lessons between electric guitar, acoustic guitar and singing! Kinda hard to imagine Tom Cruise belting out in screams and a pair of pleather tight jeans. Ha! Rock of Ages is slated to start shooting this month.

You gotta hand it to the guy who jumps on a couch wrapped in a total lovestruck high and marries this doe-eyed long lithed cutie who’s idolized him for years. And then, he buys his own sonogram machine to monitor his first born, yet still manages to flip allover along his new age beliefs. The man certainly has his own thing going.

Giving a bit of a hint on Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Tom Cruise is definitely keen to see how his co-produced film will reflect a new and distinct impression from its past sequels. The movie is scheduled for it’s release in December 2011.

Natalie has been pretty busy over the past year and doesn’t seem to be slowing down despite her growing baby bump. Engaged to choreographer Benjamin Millepied who was incidentally her choreographer in The Black Swan, Portman is yet lined up for “ Your Highness” and “Thor”.

Although her award winning role in The Black Swan has given her much reason to celebrate her newly found love, it seems her body double became a little jealous of the spotlight on the actress and started on a war path of words claiming that Portman hardly did any of the full body shots. Obviously, there’s the perfect example of someone who turned green with fame.

The movie’s producers strongly insists that Natalie was on top her toes 85 percent of her role but, I guess there’s no stopping someone who wants her claim to fame. The pregnant actress continues to remain silent about this issue, refusing to feed any more wood to the fire. She has been spotted running around New York with her fiance’ looking beautifully bare of make-up and dressed down to a pair of jeans and a sweater. It looks like the 29 year actress is enjoying her blissful state of pregnancy after going through quite a list of boyfriends under her name. She’s had a rather eclectic mix in her choice of men. With the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal and Lukas Haas … there is also Moby! The girl certainly knows how to pick ‘em well. Here’s hoping she and Benjamin Millepied keep dancing for many years to come.

After growing his locks to sport a mane fitting for a Persian Prince, Jake Gylenhall is now sporting a new look. A completely shaven head! Yes, it’s all gone! I guess this is a pretty common, but courageous feat for seasoned and determined actors when they decide to jump into a role that can completely bring out the shock factor from their fans. The hunky 30 yr old actor is promoting his new film“ End of Watch” – in which he plays the role of a uniformed cop. Oh, let me rephrase that …  a really sexy uniformed cop! He plays alongside Michael Pena as the story revolves around a long standing friendship between police partners.

I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely digging his new do.  Although he was pretty much bald in Jarhead, I think after filming Prince of Persia  and totally getting all toned and vascular, he seems to just seriously keep evolving in his roles.  The boy is certainly working hard and , err…working out really hard to keep up with his career. Just look at those rippling muscles! He was totally in his game when made Prince of Persia.  His latest film “ Source Code” has done very well in the box office , and undoubtedly solidifies Jake’s status as a very credible action star.

He’s one fine looking man to watch out for indeed! Looking at his girlfriend track record, he seems to have dated a lot of blondes. The latest that being Taylor Swift.  Although they have been rumoured to have split up, the former Broke Back Mountain star doesn’t look broken hearted at all these days. He’s got everything working great and he looks uber great !

It’s official, actor Mel Gibson has been officially dropped from Hangover 2 after the films actors voiced their anger over his casting reports The Hollywood Reporter

“I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team. But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew,” said director Todd Phillips.

Returning for The Hangover 2 is Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Justin Bartha, the movie begins filming in Thailand at the end of October.

I have a feeling Oksana Grigorieva and the Jewish community are all sitting around celebrating tonight.

New Zealand’s Actors’ Equity and Screen Production & Development Association have decided that boycotting “The Hobbit” film, being directed by Peter Jackson would be a bad very idea after all.

I’ve been meaning to watch I’m Not There since its 2007 release.  I finally got around to it.  While it’s no longer on the New Release list, I thought it was interesting enough to warrant an examination and a review.

The Accident/Picking a Story

Bob Dylan was white hot and everywhere.  Then he had a serious motorcycle accident that broke his neck in several places, cut up his face and forced him into a long period of recovery that slowly gave way to a phase of relative seclusion.

Maybe.

We really don’t know what happened on that Triumph.  The big accident story is one version of the truth.  Others say that an uncoordinated Dylan barely made it out of his manager’s driveway before accidentally falling off the bike and that he sustained only minor injuries.  There’s a version of the story with an oil slick.  One claims that a sun-blinded Dylan panicked at high speed.

He wasn’t hurt.  He was hurt.  He was severely injured.  He was on life support.  There’s probably some conspiracy nut who thinks the real Bob Dylan died and that a doppelganger replaced him (just like Paul McCartney).

Who knows?  It happened or it didn’t.  It was minor or nearly fatal.  Maybe we should just ask Bob.

Well, people have asked Bob.  And he’s given at least three different explanations of the accident himself.  When it comes to accuracy in reporting on the events of his life, Bob Dylan isn’t particularly reliable.

Disney is preparing to release the cartoon version of Beauty And The Beast on DVD for the first time in 19 years, now they have also announced that the release will coincide with a re-release of the classic cartoon, this time in 3D.

Beauty And The Beast debuted in 1991 to rave reviews and huge box office numbers, it will be interesting to see how the movie does when it arrives in 3D form come August.

Sucker Punch was one of the most talked about films at Comic-Con this year and now we have the Sucker Punch Trailer.

The movie stars Emily Browning (Baby Doll) a woman in the 1950s whose evil stepfather has her institutionalized and schedules her for a lobotomy.

Here’s the PopCrunch Synopsis:

“Sucker Punch is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, but her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary…with potentially tragic consequences.”

Sucker Punch opens March 25.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 is going to debut on November 19th and now the first full length trailer for the movie has officially debuted.

Note the darker undertones of the film, if you’ve read the book series you’re probably aware that J.K. Rowling specifically led the books in a darker direction as her core audience grew older with their favorite characters played by Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley).

The final book arrived with 759 pages and for that reason has been split into two parts to accommodate the books massive size.

The second part of the movie is set to debut on July 15th 2011.

Vanessa Hudgens has reportedly turned down a leading role in an upcoming Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie remake.

According to sources close to the project, Hudgens would have played a major role in the film which will see Sarah Michelle Gellar reprise her role as Buffy.

According to PopCrunch:

“She felt that with Twilight still so massive, Buffy would not be the best option right now,” whispers a spy. “The idea was to have Sarah back but with Vanessa as a fresh, new character. The project has been shelved for now.”

So apparently Hudgens is afraid of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson…given the popularity of Twilight who could possibly blame her.

The reset of the top 5 this weekend, according to Variety, are A Nightmare on Elm Street, How to Train Your Dragon, Date Night, and Back-up Plan, from #2-5, respectively. If you’re looking for a slasher film to jump to every few seconds, Nightmare would be it. There’s really not much story that I can reveal without giving it away; it’s basically a slasher that’ll either entertain or bore you.

In upcoming flicks, Sir Anthony Hopkins is said to be negotiating a villian role in Arabian Nights (no word on a release date yet). Sir Anthony is very busy these days. He’s also in the 2010 flicks The Wolfman, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, The Rite, and Hemingway & Fuentes. In 2010, he’ll be playing Odin, daddy of Thor in 2011′s Thor.

Another person that’s pretty busy is producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who seems to be king of Hollywood these past few years, what with owning TV and making a dent in film. His IMBD profile has 18 films listed as in development, but there are five more tht are in various stages of production, including Sorcerer’s Apprentice, which is in post-production and comes out in mid-July. Already completed is Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, which comes out May 28th. One of the in-development Bruckheimer films is a number three for the Bad Boys franchise. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are signed on to reprise their roles.

The movie was an old-school reinterpretation of Percy Jackson and there were no memorable 3D moments. I should’ve watched it in 2D and splurged the extra money on popcorn and a large soda.

I realized that movie producers tend to go 3D for extra money. Not every movie looks better in 3D, people! The best way to judge is by taking a good look at the trailer. If there are no action-packed in-your-face scenes such as Final Destination: Death Trip, go 2D. If there are no OMG-it’s-like-I’m-high graphics such as Avatar, skip the glasses and watch the movie in normal mode.

I just saw the trailer for Disney’s upcoming Toy Story 3, and yes, it will be shown in 3D. My verdict: I’d purchase 2D tickets and save my money.

3. In the story, ogre-turned-family-man Shrek is duped by Rumpelstiltskin into a deal that lands him in a distorted version of Far Far Away kingdom. Shrek tries to save his friends and reclaim the love of his wife, Fiona.

5. It features new voices such as actress Megan Fox as The Princess in the Tower, animator Walt Dohrn as Rumpelstiltskin, comedienne Kathy Griffin as Taran, and actress Kristen Schaal as Alice.

How G.I. Joe and Jennifer’s Body don’t make this list is beyond me. Those are the only two movies I even cared to see this year and if this organization can’t recognize their brilliance then I am uncertain of the legitimacy of these nominations. It doesn’t matter I guess. I am cheering for Cary Joji Fukunaga because the name is beyond awesome and it’s cool to know that an Asian sounding person directed a Spanish flick. It is similar to when people see me driving. They cheer me on because I have no eyes.

And for some reason my nose covers my belly button. Don’t ask.
