The stars of Alice In Wonderland graced the Royal World Premiere in London’s Odeon Leicester Square Thursday to celebrate the opening of the much-anticipated movie.

Director Tim Burton and his wife Helena Bonham Carter, who plays the Red Queen in the movie, posed for the photographers. Tim Burton previously threatened to ditch the premiere after Odeon cinema chain refused to screen Alice In Wonderland in the local market. Odeon finally agreed to show the film last minute.

Check out Helena’s quirky Queen of Hearts purse.

Anne Hathaway, who plays the White Queen, wore a strapless Vivienne Westwood dress and Stephen Webster jewelry.

Mia Wasikowska, who plays the title role, outdid Anne Hathaway in the fashion department with this lacy Valentino dress.

Barbara Windsor, who plays Dormouse, looked every bit the Tim Burton character in her whimsical suit.

Dancer Paloma Faith seemed to have the Red Queen in mind when she dressed up for the event.

It was a royal affair as Prince Charles and Camilla came to support the event, which benefited The Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts.

Mad-as-a-hatter Johnny Depp said it best: “It’s Tim Burton’s take on Alice in Wonderland, which to me, is the perfect marriage to bring Lewis Carroll’s masterpiece to life.”
Alice in Wonderland opens in the US and UK on March 5, 2010. Don’t forget your 3D glasses!

When Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are involved, you know it’s going to be phenomenal. Of all the blockbuster hits that 2010 promises to bring, it’s Alice in Wonderland that I cannot wait to see.
Lewis Carroll’s 19th century fairy tale has been told and retold so many times, but director Tim Burton promises to bring a more visually arresting version to the big screen.
Although Johnny’s twisted take on the Mad Hatter is expected to be entertaining as always, there’s another star that could steal the spotlight—Mia Wasikowska, who plays the lead role Alice. The film has yet to be shown in March, and already the 20-year-old Australian actress is making her rounds in Hollywood.
“I think I had a similar experience to Alice,” she told Daily Record. “I was definitely thrust into a world that was unlike my own. Making the film was very bizarre and odd, and it mimicked exactly what it was like for Alice to be in Wonderland.”
She’s been pegged as one of the faces to watch in 2010, and is reportedly working on two more movies with hotshot Hollywood directors. To want to be thrust into the public life of an A-List Hollywood celebrity, they say you have to be mad as a hatter.
