The year 2012’s just a few days old and yet we’ve already witnessed a celebrity breakup. Pop singer Katy Perry and British comedian Russell Brand has recently announced that they are separating and filing for divorce after just barely four months of marriage.

Perry and Brand were a very high profile couple and their engagement was played up a lot in the media. Their respective bachelor and bachelorette parties were also extensively reported because of their high profile guests (especially with Perry being best friends with Rihanna). All of the frenzy over their engagement and marriage would’ve led you to believe that their relationship would at least last a couple of years. But I think Kim Kardashian has already proven that it doesn’t matter if you have a wedding that’s almost considered a national event, it wouldn’t mean squat about how long the marriage will last.

Perry has already  gone on Twitter to thank her fans and family for the support they are giving her. But Katy Perry, who is known for being brutally candid, has been surprisingly silent about the reasons for her split with Brand. Maybe we’ll find out the reasons in a future song?

You gotta hand it to the press  cameras to catch all the ugly angles of celebrities and conjure major rumors based on mere bad photo ops. This time around, Katy Perry gets to loop herself into a web of pregnancy talk due to a slight bulge on her belly.

The 27 yr old singer made it very clear that she and husband comedian Russell  Brand have no immediate plans of having a baby. Not now…..and may hold off on it for a lot longer.

You would wonder what makes women these days obsess over weight and dress sizes. An ill fitting dress will find the media cutting up a clueless celebrity from having an eating disorder to bad taste  and of course that favourite gossiping gasp of pregnancy.

Sadly enough, Katy had to admit that she was enjoying one too many heists with New York’s finest gastronomic experiences and hence, her body of proof came in the form of a bloated belly  bulge.  Obviously, this only means there shall be no bloating allowed in Hollywood!  All you shrinks out there can just capitalize on the media that feeds so much pressure on celebrities’ minds  about enjoying cheeseburgers and pizza.

As it is, Christina Aguilera also got slammed for an ill fitting dress she  wore for the American Music Awards.  Hopefully, not every celebrity gets pregnancy write up each time they decide to binge and bloat themselves to media destruction.

A classic example of your sordid past catching up with you, is Russel Brand getting deported from Japan when he came along  to support singer and wife Katy Perry for her Japan tour. Based on the pop star’s tweets , “  So ... my husband just got deported from Japan. I am so. sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favorite place."

Russel Brand, who married Perry in 2010, has been in a number of scuffles with authorities battling with his drug and alcohol addiction.  Having been arrested quite a few times, he has recently had another bout with authorities for allegedly attacking the paparazzi at an  LA airport last year.

No comment or feedback from the singer and her husband as to the reason behind Japanese officials for denying entry to the British actor/comedian. The only words Katy Perry mentioned regarding this, was due to some “priors”.

Brand didn’t same fazed with the incident, as his Twitter page had him posting, “ Planning escape from Japanese custody, It’s bloody hard to dig a tunnel with a chopstick.”

Katy Perry had no choice but to go ahead with her show saying that she still loves her Japanese fans.

Perry and Brand’s marriage skyrocketed them into being one of Hollywood’s high profile couples, even with Russell Brand’s notorious past and criminal history. Quite surprising to know at this point that Katy Perry grew up with parents who are both  evangelical ministers. In an interview for her cover spread in Vanity Fair magazine, the pop singer recalls her childhood with her mother reading the bible to her in place of the usual children’s books.

With her success in the music industry, and carving her own brand of sexy pop music and bold retro revealing outfits, Perry admits that her relationship with her parents now have come to a coexisting crossroad where they no longer try to change each other and all agree to disagree.

She speaks of her relationship with husband Russell Brand as having no dull moment together. Merely laughing at the incident when pics of her minus her usual dolled up face leaked out to the public. Hubby Russell  thought it funny to take a picture of his wife  in bed sans make-up.

And on that note, in case you’re shopping for a celebrity home, Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s Los Feliz home is on the market for a lovely price tag of $3.395 million.

The Easter celebrations wrapped up this weekend, and the stars took a break from their busy schedules for egg-hunting festivities.

Singer Katy Perry and her actor fiancé Russell Brand held an Easter Day party at their home in Los Feliz, California. She got into the spirit by wearing bunny ears and a yellow bikini. I love her tie-dye cover-up!

Gwen Stefani and her hubby Gavin Rossdale spent Easter in Malibu at an exclusive party. Their son Kingston (right) wore an Easter bunny shirt as he ran amok, while little Zuma was contented to be in mommy’s arms.

Look, it’s the Spidey family! Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer Meyer-Maguire took their kids Ruby Sweetheart and Otis to the same Malibu party.

Kourtney Kardashian took a break from her partying ways to spend the Sunday afternoon in Malibu beach with her baby Mason Dash Disick.

Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise had a busy Sunday in New York. They watched the Easter Sunday performance of DanceBrazil at Joyce Theater, after which they had a nice lunch at City Bakery.

Stephanie Pratt is a do-gooder. She and other celebrities volunteered for the Los Angeles Easter Meal to the Homeless held at the Los Angeles Mission.

Sibling rivalry. Twins Dylan and Cole Sprouse of The Suite Life On Deck were pitted against each other in the Favorite TV Actor category, but Dylan won and took home the famous blimp trophy, beating another set of brothers—Nick and Joe Jonas of the show Jonas.

Katy Perry—best in slime! After changing into a bright yellow floral dress and a blue wig on stage, the singer presented the favorite movie actress award along with Jonah Hill. When she opened the box that held the envelope, Nickelodeon’s traditional bright green slime hosed Katy down. Sony has bagged the rights to produce Smurfs: The Movie, which will be a blend of animation and live action, according to Moviefone. A roster of Hollywood stars will lend their voices to the little blue creatures.

The fantastic Neil Patrick Harris is giving life to the “lead Smurf,” although insiders have yet to reveal which Smurf exactly. I’m betting on Brainy Smurf or Vanity Smurf. Other celebrity voices are: Katy Perry as Smurfette, Alan Cumming as Gusty Smurf, George Lopez as Grouchy Smurf, and Jonathan Winters as Papa Smurf.

Directed by Raja Gosnell (Beverly Hills Chihuahua), Smurfs will begin filming next month and will be out in July 2011.

Take Katy Perry, for instance. It looks like she’s taking the ‘80s trend to heart. Last Monday, she was spotted wearing a lace patterned pantyhose under a grey leotard and a loose hanging shirt. Well, she was on her way to a Hollywood dance studio.

First, People reported that rocker Marilyn Manson, 41, proposed to his on-and-off girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood, 22, while he was performing onstage in Paris last January 4. Although the couple has yet to confirm the engagement, it has fueled the Hollywood grapevine.

Second, comedian Russell Brand, proposed to popstar Katy Perry, 25, during their New Year holiday in India. According to The Sun, he popped the question in a romantic ceremony at India’s luxury Taj Rambagh Palace hotel with the help of the hotel staff.

Third, Keyshia Cole’s spokesperson recently admitted that the singer/reality star is pregnant and engaged to NBA player Daniel Gibson. Their first child is expected to be born in March.

Next, Canadian crooner Michael Buble, 34, and his Argentinian actress girlfriend, Luisana Loreley Lopilato de la Torre, 22, finally admitted to the press that they have been engaged for two months now. You may recognize Luisana for her role in Michael’s video, “Just Haven’t Met You Yet.”

Lastly, The New York Post reported that Derek Jeter, 35, of the New York Yankees is engaged to Minka Kelly, 29, of Friday Night Lights. One reporter went out of her way to get the scoop on this engagement by posing as a bride-to-be at the Oheka Castle in Huntington, where Kevin Jonas recently got married. She found the hotel’s official wedding schedule where the Jeter wedding is set for November 5.

You would think that with Lady Gaga winning the weird of the year that she would also win the most outrageous outfit of the year, but she doesn’t. This prestigious award goes to Katy Perry who I am pretty sure will not make another hit record for as long as she lives.

Add to the fact she is with Russell Brand and all I see is failure happening to her in 2010. And why is it every time she shows up the attention is brought to her breasts as if she has the greatest pair on planet Earth. I just don’t see it. She wears some great pushup bras and that seems to be the extent of it all.

So what, you kissed a girl and you liked it. I kiss a girl all the time and I like it, but I don’t go around bragging to everyone I know because it happens. Maybe I should create a song for every spectacular thing that I do.

I made a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and I liked it. I avoided running over that stray cat and rammed my car into a tree breaking my ribs and I didn’t like it. Last week I found a spiderweb with a very cool design and thought I saw the face of Bette Midler in it, but I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not.

Expect to see all of these hits coming to your iPod next year. I can already smell the money rolling in.

That didn’t stop the musical guests from giving earth-shaking performances. Beyonce Knowles not only bagged the best female artist award and best song award for “Halo,” but also wowed the audience with her racy red outfit as she performed her hit “Sweet Dreams.”

Wall-to-wall would be an understatement for Katy Perry’s costume changes and hosting skills. From her various red carpet frocks to her glittering stage costumes, Perry’s wardrobe did not disappoint fans that night.

The Willy Wonka extravaganza wasn’t complete without Oompah Loompahs, bright colored decked lights, and enough candy treats to satisfy her guests’ sweet tooth. The birthday girl herself sported Oompah Loompah nail decals.

Perez was quick to report on his blog: “[sic] Dinner included lots of yumminess, especially some deelish yellow and green mashed potatoes—and there was so many sweets downstairs for dessert that we’re surprised we didn’t go into a food coma.”

Perez Hilton thought he looked kind of like the tooth fairy in his costume.

She also managed to keep her hands warm in a jewel-encrusted Chanel muff in the French designer’s show.

Dita Von Teese arrived at the Christian Dior show in her signature old Hollywood glam look.

Supermodel Claudia Schiffer went for military chic at the Chanel Pret a Porter show.
