Did you hear the resounding gasp of one million teenage girls worldwide? That natural phenomenon occurred when Denise Jonas, mother of the famous Disney pop trio Jonas Brothers, confirmed that the youngest Jonas is working on a solo project.
“It’s called Nick Jonas and The Administration,” Mama Jonas told Parade.com yesterday. “Shhh! He’s at the photo shoot for the album cover right now,” she said during the interview.
Nick has told fans not to worry, because it doesn’t mean they’re breaking up. In the band’s official MySpace blog, they reassured everyone that it’s just a side project. “We’ve said from the beginning of our career as the Jonas Brothers that anything we do outside of the group is a side project because you can’t break up brothers,” Nick wrote.
Nick’s solo project will be launched in early 2010. The album is in collaboration with four unnamed musicians that Nick worked with in the past. Other than Nick’s side project, the brothers have planned another world tour next summer.
“A three chord strand is not easily broken,” Nick added. “And one thing’s for sure… this three chord strand is stronger now than it’s ever been.” That sounds like a cheesy pop tune this trio would sing.

The Jonas Brothers are scoring brownie points one after the other. This time, they played pro kickball (yeah there is such a thing) at the event Kick for Change. Beneficiaries are Change for the Children Foundation and Verizon Wireless’ HopeLine program.

It’s like a Bono humanitarian concert for teens and tweens. We Day is an annual youth empowered rally by Free The Children, an organization that aims to fight child labor. This year, We Day started out in two different venues and dates in Canada—September 29 at Vancouver’s GM Place and October 5 at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. The third and final set will be on November 5 at the Hamilton Place.
Some 16,000 students and teachers attended the musical event. Guest performers such as The Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber, Hedley and dancers from So You Think You Can Dance Canada were received with ear-splitting cheers from the crowd.
The event wasn’t just about a cool concert. The kids and teens in attendance were in full support of the organization’s cause—to make tangible actions that make a better world, especially for children. Humanitarians, environmentalists, motivational speakers and politicians were greeted like rockstars at the event.
SOS call: The Jonas Brothers made a surprise appearance.
Justin Bieber performed the acoustic version of his hit “One Time” at We Day.
“We share with our team and we truly believe it’s not about us. It’s about the issues and we share that with all the young people,” said Marc Kielburger, one of the founders of Free The Children. “We’re just happy that the young people feel that it’s really cool to get socially engaged and what we’re fighting most of all is we’re fighting apathy.”
“Everyday action is our message and people respond to that message because they’re really searching to bring about a positive change in this world,” added co-founder Craig Kielburger.
With the success of the rally, it looks like the kids heard the message loud and clear.

This is what it is like to be as popular as the Jonas Brothers – they have the dough to purchase a new Texas home costing a nice $2.8M. How nice is the area? Let’s just say that the brothers are now neighbors with a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, a major leaguer and a former British Open champion. Wait – I think the boys chose the wrong neighborhood!

Remember about a week ago when we heard wild forecasts about the 3D movie of THE brothers? Well, apparently, it did not do as well as forecasted. The movie didn’t do that bad, actually, getting abotu $12.7 million in the first 3 days. It was short of the $15m that the studio was hoping for though, and way way short of the crazy predictions that reached $25m.
