It’s a well known fact that to cut it in Hollywood you need a megawatt smile. But as celebrities often play their cards close to their chest when it comes to cosmetic procedures, it requires some super sleuthing and a couple of ‘before’ photos to work out whether in fact mother nature blessed them with great genes, or if they have had a helping hand in pursuit of the perfect pearly whites.

Stephanie Meyer, look out! Actress-turned-popstar-turned-writer Hilary Duff has signed a deal to write young adult novels for publishing company Simon & Schuster.
The newly engaged 22-year-old has already penned her first novel, Elixir, which will be published in October. There are no handsome vampires or shirtless werewolves in the teen story, but it does have an interesting heroine. It follows the global adventures of photojournalist Clea Raymond, whose gifted photography skills prevent tragedies before they occur.
Her next one is a nonfiction book about kids coping with divorce. Her parents are divorced and she will reportedly use her own personal experiences for the book, which is scheduled for release in 2012. Fans will remember that Hilary has written about her own parents’ separation in the songs “Stranger” and “Gypsy Woman.”

I mean the only way you can be it is if you know how to strut and she is definitely strutting it right now. I'm not even going to bother going into detail of what it is because then that would require a whole new expectation of things and we would just feel like we are getting no where with this whole description. I'm sure you understand my reasoning with this as you always do because you just so happen to be that type of understanding person.
Remember when Hilary Duff was really really hot though? It was around the time when she still wasn't 18 and I'm not saying that to be a perv, but have you see anyone, besides Lindsay Lohan, intentionally unhot themselves before they reached 30? Yeah, I'm being dead serious when I say unhot because that is the only explanation for what has been done here.
I can't explain it quite specifically when looking at these pics, but she doesn't have...wait...dammit...she doesn't have it anymore. After I just claimed she is it, now I am saying she doesn't have it anymore. I can't seem to make up my mind. This is certainly a problem that needs some correcting.
I'm going to have to hit the drawing board all over again to get this one sorted out so stay tuned later.

She hasn’t been featured on any magazine covers for a while, so it’s nice to see Hilary Duff as Nylon magazine’s first cover girl of the year.

The 22-year-old talks about her clothing line, Femme for DKNYJeans, her “rad” mom, and her role as Olivia Burke on Gossip Girl. “I was a little hesitant,” she said about her GG character. “It was kind of close to home… then I realized, I would never say something [that Olivia says].”
Notice that she’s looking a bit curvier—a refreshing change from her extreme weight loss the past few years.

Did you know that this pretty little girl has a charitable organization of her own? She has this program called Blessings in a Backpack, and she brought it over to Colombia to distribute 3,000 backpacks full of food to the poor children. She is also helping out with the vaccination program that is being held in the city.

It seems like ages ago since I heard (or read) Hilary Duff’s name but this comeback to TV is a big one. She is due to guest star on Ghost Whisperer, of which Jennifer Love Hewitt is the star.

On her “Dignity” tour’s Mexico stop, former teen queen Hilary Duff was accused of lip-synching, reminiscent of the plot in her former film, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, where her greasy Italian love interest was indeed doing the dirty deed.
Miss Duff vehemently denied the allegations, blaming faulty Mexican equipment. Her people stand behind the star, insisting that she always performs live in her concerts.

Hilary Duff send the paparazzi a very nasty look as she & her NY Islanders hockey pal Mike Comrie pull into the West Hollywood hot spot Area. But if you’re going to visit hot spots, Hil, you have to expect that they’d be there, right?…

Us Weekly has debuted a new annual swimsuit issue, and guess who’s gracing the cover? None other than Hilary Duff!
If I were to think back a few years ago, I would have never said Hilary would be gracing the cover of anything in a bikini, except maybe Fattie Weekly.
But Hilary seems to have taken her weight very seriously since she read reports of her sporting a little more weight than she needed to a few years back.  The singer/actress went down from Â
“It made me obsessed,â€Â Hil said of her sctrict diet.
“I would beat myself up if I had some fat.â€
But when the 5-foot-2 singer/actress went down from 130 to 100 pounds in 2005, sister Haylie stepped in & finally intervened.
“She said, ‘Why are you being so strict with yourself?’It was like an awakening,†revealed Duff.
“I don’t want to be so skinny that people are like, Oh my god, she’s lost a lot of weight.â€
As of right now Hilary is very pleased at staying around 109 pounds, saying, ”As you get older, you just get more comfortable in your own skin.”
Congrats to Hilary for finding a good medium balance in there, she looks great!

Monday on MTV’s TRL, Blades of Glory stars Will Ferrell & Jon Heder took a stab at trying to teach unsteady Hilary Duff to ice skate.
Ferrell & Heder were doing the rounds in New York to promote their new movie, while Duff was trying her hand at cohosting the popular MTV show.
I’d have to say that after seeing the show, Duff may not be the next Kristi Yamaguchi, if you know what I mean!
