You can’t discuss Madonna without mentioning Britney Spears, and vice-versa. After the successful Madonna tribute on Glee, as well as the album compilation The Power of Madonna, fans have taken it upon themselves to decide who they believe should be featured next on Glee.

They bombarded networking sites such as Twitter with the idea of a Britney Spears episode. Why not? Even the show’s creator Ryan Murphy thinks it’s a good idea. According to AHN, they’ve already talked to the popstar about it.

“She certainly would love to do it,” Ryan said. “And I think she’s phenomenally talented. And the kids and the cast certainly have a great connection to her. So maybe, yeah. We’re going to talk about it.”

If Britney says yes, fans will have to wait until this fall or spring next year. Producers want the Britney episode to coincide with the release of her upcoming seventh album.

I would love to see the Glee cast perform “Hit Me Baby One More Time” with Lea Michele doing Britney’s part from the original music video.

Remember this talent show? It aired from 1983-2003, with its peak in the late ’80s and early ’90s. Back in the day when reality TV ceased to exist, viewers would sit on their couches to see which singers, dancers, and comedians would get the best ratings and win Star Search.

TV network ABC wants to revive the show and are looking modern-day judges to give the coveted 4-star ratings. They’ve approached former American Idol judge Paula Abdul to potentially join the show, but she reportedly demanded a hefty paycheck so no deal was made.

Paula Abdul: Nope, I’m not exactly going to go with this show. I really like your dress, though.

While we wait for ABC to cast talent show judges, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and see some of today’s top performers who started off as big dreamers at Star Search.

The Candies Spring 2010 collection is out, and it’s modeled by none other than Britney Spears. She’s back for her second series of Candies ads, this time with the help of top fashion photographers Annie Leibovitz, Mark Seliger, and Terry Richardson.

To help promote the project, a special “Britney Spears Through The Lens” campaign was launched last Wednesday. You’ll be seeing a lot of Britney’s pictures through the eyes of the aforementioned photographers on the official Candies website, as well as in the department stores that carry the brand.

However, today is Britney’s day and although she has ruined her reputation and we all think of her as an absolute nutcase, we can’t forget all that she has achieved.

The popstar has indeed made a comeback – not only in her career but in her family life as well. Everyone involved has allowed Britney to take her sons with her on tour, ensuring that the family unit – minus the dad – will be together for an extended period of time.

As the year comes to an end, Britney seems to be gaining back some of the ground that she has lost (and she lost lots of it too) over the years. With a new album and a tour in the next year, she just might make a comeback. Before she can do that, though, she needs to give over $1M to those who have helped her in keeping herself together.

The rumor that Britney Spears and Good Charlotte front man Benji Madden are dating has been going around lately but Holly Shakoor, Britney’s publicist formally denied the issue. She says that “the claims made by In Touch are completely false” and that “there is not an ounce of truth to any of it.” Ok.

Hopefully, Amy Winehouse pulls off the same thing soon, too.

It’s not quite your neighborhood birthday party. Britney Spears threw a truck-themed bash for her two boys, attended by Gwen Stefani, Jenny McCarthy, Heidi Klum and their kids.

Best part was the birthday presents: two custom-made cars. Hope her sons are better at driving than she is.

It was a typical family reunion — or as typical as it can be, if you’re a Spears. On Britney’s visitation day with the kids, sister Jamie Lynn dropped by with her own baby. Even ex Kevin Federline participated in the big day, hanging out with the group for about an hour before bringing the boys home.

Gee, you almost forget for a second there the court battles, teenage pregnancies, and nervous breakdowns.

Who can forget Britney Spears’ disastrous 2007 VMA performance? But one year later, the once-beleaguered actress took the same stage — and shone. No, she didn’t dance, but she did open the ceremony and even took home three trophies. It’s the first time she ever won a VMA award.

Britney Spears is doing great — but apparently, so are her lawyers. Her court-appointed attorney just billed her $248,625 for 7 months of work, while her dad’s attorney reimbursed about $700 just for photocopying documents.

Britney Spears may seem well on the road to recovery — her custody battle’s over, her career’s picking up, and she’s even participating in some celebrity events — but it’s too early to tell if she can handle her own life. In fact, the courts are likely to extend her father’s conservatiorship role. Some experts are even saying that participating in the court affairs can ‘endanger’ her recovery.

We guess Britney will always be Daddy’s little girl.

Her MTV performance was a disaster, but fans still think Britney deserves an award for her video, Piece of Me.

But will Britney want to go back to any MTV event in the near future?
