Britney Spears is gearing for a comeback. Seems that ever since she was discharged from the hospital, she’s steered cleer of scandal and midnight paparazzi interludes. She started teaching a dance class for kids, spent quality time with her parents, and even got to visit her kids. Now she’s ready to take on her career. Britney just called an old colleague, dancer Leo Moctezuma, who worked with her on previous tours and videos. Could this be for her video, Hot as Ice?

The court has granted Britney Spears’ family
even more control over her property. Her dad and her brother now have the authority to handle her money, employ security, and yes — keep friends like Sam Lufti at bay.

What would Britney have to say about this — assuming her parents grant reporters the right to interview her?

Looks like mental facilities are now the favorite Hollywood hangout.

Just as Britney Spears checked into the UCLA Medical Center, Grey’s Anatomy Justin Chambers checked out. He was suffering from a sleeping disorder — sadly, this may have been the same thing that plagued Heath Ledger.

A Hollywood stylist, Nancy Rosu, is suing Britney for unpaid bills.

Apparently she had been hired to shop for the star, and never got paid for the clothes or the services — worth approximately $50,000. The pop star had ignored her calls for over 2 months. (Don’t feel bad, Nancy. Britney ignores court judges, too.)

Although you’d think with a $50,000 clothes bill, the stylist could’ve included some Hollywood tape (or at least, a safety pin) with this green ensemble.

Yay! Is Britney finally getting her act together? Amid rumors that she ditched her paparazzo boyfriend, Adnan and even got a restraining order, she headed back to the dance studio to actually (gasp!) work.

Yes, Britney was all business as she practiced her choreography for her song, “Hot as Ice” at the Millennium Dance Complex.

This was hours after she invited two photographers (what IS it with photographers?) up to her apartment for champagne. “She was very sweet,” said one.

Ghalib, who was out of town for the weekend was caught off guard by the news. “I am only now becoming aware of what is being said. I hope to be back home in Los Angeles soon and to be in contact with Miss Spears.”

What’s with Britney’s British accent?

Could it be the influence of boyfriend Adnan, who originally hails from London, or another sign of mental instability?

She’s been taped doing the twang for the last 2 weeks, using it even when she’s swearing at reporters. “Get out of my G—— face!”

What would the Queen say?!

Psychologists say it’s a sign of dissociative identity disorder (i.e., multiple personalities), especially since she’s taken to other bizarre props — like wearing a pink wig. Others think it’s just a bid for attention.

“When she puts on the pink wig, you just know something crazy is about to happen,” said one paparazzo.

While former rival Britney Spears shops for a pregnancy test (hey, if you lose 2 kids, why not make a new onem right?) former rival Christina Aguilera plays the “perfect mom” with a video tribute to her new family.

Aaaaaawwwww. Who’d have thought 10 years ago that the pink-hard punk-rocker Christina would go all Martha-Stewart while the clean-cut Britney would be… well… whatever she is now?

Britney Spears loses custody to Kevin Federline, after she ditched the court hearing. She’d actually made it to the door of the courthouse but retreated to her car. ” Move back. I’m scared. Stop it. Stop it. I want to get back in the car. Just stop it. Let me get in the car, please,” Spears told photographers. When police tried to convince her to join the hearing, she screamed “No!” and drove off. She went to the church, where she spent a few minutes alone before leaving.

Kevin’s lawyers didn’t exactly break out the champagne. “The word victory is not something Mr. Federline or his counsel would ascribe to this situation His hope is that he will be able to parent the children at some point in the future with participation from the mother.”

Britney sought company with her boyfriend Adnan and two other friends. They had a lunch at a restaurant, where a waitress described her as “very quiet, sad and upset. She wore her sunglasses inside and seemed drained.”

This is all so tragic. She needs help, possibly treatment for bipolar disorder — and she’s not going to get it from the paparazzi (or dating one, either).

And the Britney saga goes on. This week, she’s locked herself up in the bathroom with her kid, checked into a mental institute, and lost custody. While her mom accuses Dr. Phil of betraying their family’s “circle of trust” she and her paparazzo boyfriend Adnan Ghalib escaped to the Bahamas.

Yes, that’s right. First the couple shook off the press by saying that they’d go to New York. Hours later, they turned up in Baja! Rosarito Beach, Mexico — about 3 hours away from her Beverly Hills home. Then, with a sudden burst of intelligence (yes, her brain is still there somewhere) she cancels their romantic rendezvous and goes back home.

More alarming Britney news! Britney Spears is on “medical hold” at Cedars - Sinai Medical Center. Things finally came to a head when Britney refused to give her children to Kevin Federline’s bodyguards when they came to her house to pick the kids up as part of a court order. She reportedly locked herself in one of the rooms with Jayden James. The fire brigade and the police had to be called to mediate and after a reported three - hour standoff. Paramedics were called in when it was determined that Britney was under the influence of an unknown substance.

Jayden James was safely retrieved from Britney and it was reported that she was brought out of the house and into an ambulance in a stretcher and looking absolutely out of it.

She is now undergoing psychological and physical tests and there are reports that she is also on suicide watch.

Never was a fan of Britney, but I really am worried for her right now. Here’s hoping that 2008 will be a better year for the erstwhile pop princess.

Celebrity gossip will never be complete without mention of Britney Spears.

Despite having strong sales for her latest album, Britney’s personal life continues to be one big wreck. The latest we’ve heard is that her legal team has quit! This is the second time her lawyers have quit on her. This time around, her lawyers said that there had been a “breakdown” in communication with her and that it prevents them from representing her.

Britney has already missed today’s deposition, making it five in a row for her. We’ll see how this will impact on her life in the next coming weeks.
