The year 2012’s just a few days old and yet we’ve already witnessed a celebrity breakup. Pop singer Katy Perry and British comedian Russell Brand has recently announced that they are separating and filing for divorce after just barely four months of marriage.
Perry and Brand were a very high profile couple and their engagement was played up a lot in the media. Their respective bachelor and bachelorette parties were also extensively reported because of their high profile guests (especially with Perry being best friends with Rihanna). Katy Perry Extra Marital Affair Rumors Circulate

According to several insiders, Katy Perry may be cheating on recently wed husband Russel Brand with her sometimes writing partner and producer Benny Blanco.
The insiders say that Perry has been sleeping with Blanco who has produced songs fro Britney Spears, Ke$ha and others. Blanco it should be noted is a former Heroine users and sex addict and like Perry was raised as a devout Christian.
If the rumors are true, it would be quite the twist considering Perry’s hubby Russell Brand is in fact the admitted sex addict in the relationship.
Charges Filed Over Katy Perry, Russell Brand Wedding

Katy Perry and Russell Brand are facing charges in India after their wedding apparently disturbed the peace.
According to Managers at the the couple’s resort Aman-i-Khas the couple violated noise laws when they took their late night festivities and their loud music past the 10 p.m. time allowance.

Russell Brand And Katy Perry Take To Twitter After Tying The Knot

Katy Perry and Russell Brand waited until they had been married for one day before taking to Twitter.
The newly wed couple both Tweeted the message “We Did!” on their personal Twitter pages, while uploading a TwitPic.
Unfortunately for fans the picture just showed their names written in different colored bubble letters formed using Silly Bandz, hardly the wedding picture fans were expecting to see.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand are officially married, having swapped vows on Saturday during a grand ceremony at Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, India
Rambagh Palace is where the couple got engaged and a rep for the couple released the following statement to E! News:
“Russell Brand and Katy Perry are overjoyed to confirm that they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Brand on Saturday, October 23,” while adding, “The very private and spiritual ceremony, attended by the couples’ closest family and friends was performed by a Christian minister and longtime friend of the Hudson Family. The backdrop was the inspirational and majestic countryside of Northern India.”
Russell Brand Arrested At LAX, Placed Under Citizen Arrest

Russell Brand apparently had enough of the paparazzi this week or more specifically one paparazzi, going ape sh*t on a pushy photog at Los Angeles International Airport.
The British comedian was passing through security with fiance Katy Perry when he allegedly began pushing the paparazzi, then hit him. Another photographer then made a citizen’s arrest against Brand, until eventually the LAPD took charge of the situation and charged Russell with battery.
Here’s the statement released by the LAX police:
“About 1:50 PM… Los Angeles Airport Police responded to Terminal 5 to a report of a battery involving a celebrity and a commercial photographer (paparazzi),” adding, “The victim involved placed the suspect (Russell Brand) under private person’s arrest,” while continuing, “Airport Police took the suspect into custody for Penal Code Section 242 – battery. He will be booked at the LAPD Pacific Division station.”
Katy Perry From California Gurl To British Citizen

I’m placing this one firmly on the unverified rumors back burner, but it appears Katy Perry, the girl happy to sing about being a California gurl, may soon be a British citizen.
It’s no secret that Perry is set to marry British comedian Russell Brand next month and now insiders are saying she’ll become a British citizen to fully embrace her husbands country.
In the least, Perry will have to receive dual-citizenship so she can stay for extended periods in England with her hilarious hubby.

That Russell Brand, such a kidder. Always joking around about something. Says he needs to have an orgasm every 15 minutes. Oh and that he’s hoping for a child with Katy Perry some day. “I’m hoping for a hybrid creature, something from, Greek mythology like a satyr.” But what a lucky guy, about to marry the very sexy Katy Perry. Brand is of course the British actor/ comedian who played the kooky rockstar Aldous Snow in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
The best quote out of his recent Parade interview is in reference to sex addiction:
Men don’t face the imperative of having a baby grow in their belly, so the male mating strategy is based on making a lot of women pregnant, or at least having sex with them. The female strategy is to get one good man. That’s why marriage is not fair.
He jokes about trying that excuse on fiancee Katy, and you might think given what a babe she is, that there’s no reason to cheat. But then again, Tiger Woods and David Boreanaz both have beautiful wives and that didn’t stop them. In Tiger’s case, it’s probably going to cost him $750M, which just seems surreal. Russell might be a notorious joker; hopefully he’ll be faithful.

The Easter celebrations wrapped up this weekend, and the stars took a break from their busy schedules for egg-hunting festivities.
Singer Katy Perry and her actor fiancé Russell Brand held an Easter Day party at their home in Los Feliz, California. She got into the spirit by wearing bunny ears and a yellow bikini. I love her tie-dye cover-up!
Gwen Stefani and her hubby Gavin Rossdale spent Easter in Malibu at an exclusive party. Their son Kingston (right) wore an Easter bunny shirt as he ran amok, while little Zuma was contented to be in mommy’s arms.
Look, it’s the Spidey family! Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer Meyer-Maguire took their kids Ruby Sweetheart and Otis to the same Malibu party.
Kourtney Kardashian took a break from her partying ways to spend the Sunday afternoon in Malibu beach with her baby Mason Dash Disick.
Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise had a busy Sunday in New York. They watched the Easter Sunday performance of DanceBrazil at Joyce Theater, after which they had a nice lunch at City Bakery.
Stephanie Pratt is a do-gooder. She and other celebrities volunteered for the Los Angeles Easter Meal to the Homeless held at the Los Angeles Mission.

Yesterday, I blogged about former Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean’s engagement to girlfriend Rochelle Deanna Karidis. It turns out he isn’t the only one infected with the engagement fever; a lot of celebs have started 2010 with a wedding proposal.
First, People reported that rocker Marilyn Manson, 41, proposed to his on-and-off girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood, 22, while he was performing onstage in Paris last January 4. Although the couple has yet to confirm the engagement, it has fueled the Hollywood grapevine.
Second, comedian Russell Brand, proposed to popstar Katy Perry, 25, during their New Year holiday in India. According to The Sun, he popped the question in a romantic ceremony at India’s luxury Taj Rambagh Palace hotel with the help of the hotel staff.
Third, Keyshia Cole’s spokesperson recently admitted that the singer/reality star is pregnant and engaged to NBA player Daniel Gibson. Their first child is expected to be born in March.

Next, Canadian crooner Michael Buble, 34, and his Argentinian actress girlfriend, Luisana Loreley Lopilato de la Torre, 22, finally admitted to the press that they have been engaged for two months now. You may recognize Luisana for her role in Michael’s video, “Just Haven’t Met You Yet.”
Lastly, The New York Post reported that Derek Jeter, 35, of the New York Yankees is engaged to Minka Kelly, 29, of Friday Night Lights. One reporter went out of her way to get the scoop on this engagement by posing as a bride-to-be at the Oheka Castle in Huntington, where Kevin Jonas recently got married. She found the hotel’s official wedding schedule where the Jeter wedding is set for November 5.
