There hasn’t been a makeover for the Planter’s Peanuts guy since 1916, but this week Kraft chose to take the character in a new direction, voicing him with movie star Robert Downey Jr.
Okay so Mr. Peanut still wears his top hat and wear glasses, but he’s also in 3D and has the voice of Robert Downey.
The actor has signed a multiple commercial contract that will run at least through the holiday season.

Two months before he tragically passed away, Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein did a cameo appearance for Iron Man 2. According to LA Times, there are actually a lot of celebrity cameo appearances for the highly anticipated Iron Man sequel, including Bill O’Reilly and Stan Lee.
For director Jon Favreau, he grappled with whether or not to include DJ AM’s scene, especially after his tragic death by accidental drug overdose.
“We tried to make it respectful, and for people who know him, they’ll get a kick out of it and for people who don’t, it will sort of slide by without much notice,” Favreau said in a statement on Wednesday.
DJ AM will appear in a scene Robert Downey Jr.’s character Tony Stark, who is throwing a wild birthday party at his Malibu oceanfront estate. DJ AM will be in his element, at the turntables.
I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for that one.
Iron Man 2 will be out on May 7.
