The South African all-girls school founded by Oprah Winfrey has seen a few scandals pass through the institutions halls and this week a newborn baby was found dead in a bag belonging to a 17-year-old student.
The body was found after the girl who attends the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, 25 miles south of Johannesburg placed the baby in a plastic bag. The teen is said to have handed over the bag to hospital officials after being admitted for excessive bleeding.
Investigators have not said whether or not the child died of natural causes or at the hands of the student who remains in the hospital at this time.

If Michael Vick goes missing with no trace in the next week or so, we'll just assume Oprah had him "removed" from existence. She can do that right? It turns out the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has canceled his Oprah interview.
Vick was already scheduled to film an interview with Oprah for her talk show, however he "abruptly canceled the interview" just a few hours before he was set to get on a plan and head to Chicago on Wednesday afternoon.
According to sources close to the Oprah show, he was set to talk about his time in prison, his Humane Society work and his return to the NFL.
A rep at Harpo Productions released the following statement:

Here's a real shocker, Oprah Winfrey is once again the highest paid female in Hollywood.
America's most beloved talk show host topped this years list of Forbest highest paid women in Hollywood, earning $324 million from Oct. 2009 through Oct. 2010. Oprah's take was more than talk show men counterparts, Conan O'Brien, Jay Leno and David Letterman.
Trailing far behind was the $89 million earning Beyonce, followed by the $65 million Britney Spears and the $64 million Lady Gaga.

The more I hear about Oksana Grigorieva, the more I respect her as a person. It's being reported that Grigorieva turned down millions of dollars for exclusive interviews being offered to her by Dateline and 60 Minutes and instead decided to tell her story for free on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
“Everyone knows Oprah doesn’t pay. Oksana could have made big bucks from doing a tell-all with one of the networks that day. She could have made a million dollars if she’s willing to tell all about her rocky relationship with Mel and explain why she recorded those infamous tapes, however it seems that she has taken the high road and will do Oprah for free,” a tipster told PopEater.

It’s official, TMZ is reporting that one-time Mel Gibson girlfriend and the mother of his child, Oksana Grigorieva will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show to talk about her explosive relationship with her ex-boyfriend.
Oksana shot to fame over the last several months after claiming that Gibson knocked out her front teeth and then releasing various tapes that have shown Mel Gibson is a less than favorable light….actually that’s putting it nicely, they basically make him sound like a psychopath.

The scathing unauthorized Biography of Oprah Winfrey written by Kitty Kelley will be released as a made for TV movie in 2011. According to PopCrunch, the rights to the book were bought by veteran TV movie producer Larry A. Thompson.
Kelly’s book includes a focus on Oprah’s early childhood, promiscious teen years and her unknown paternity. The movie is planned to be released in conjunction with Oprah’s exit from network TV in September 2011.
Thompson says of the story:
“…I think it’s a fabulous story, and it’s certainly a challange, but Kitty Kelley’s extensively researched book offers us the factual foundation to frame our cinematic portrait of this powerful and beloved icon. Oprah Winfrey is a very powerful woman, and that’s also something that will make our movie great.”

Oprah may have popularized the Twitter.com “microblogging” site to the masses, but it’s not her who has the most followers. That questionable title was originally held by Ashton Kutcher for some unexplainable reason, and now he’s been usurped by Britney Spears, though he says he doesn’t care. As you can see above, she’s dancing for joy.
Are these two idiots the voices of this generation? Neither of them is even a particularly good actor. Sure, Britney is a talented performer, but the only thing Ashton has going for him aside from his good lucks is that he couldn’t keep his pecker in his pants and that he somehow finagled Demi Moore away from Bruce Willis. I guess that takes talent, to steal Mr. Die Hard’s woman away.
And we’re talking about the same Britney Spears that had reportedly had a meltdown on Mother’s Day, after an argument about something with her boyfriend, and hacked off her hair with scissors, blocking her toilet. Then spent $5,000 on a red-ink tattoo of a crown. On her butt.
So why do these two numskulls have so many followers? And if she has so many followers, why doesn’t she tweet her fans to help save the Britney Spears Camp for the Performing Arts? At least Ashton donated 10,000 mosquito nets for World Malaria Day.

Let’s face it. If you or I acted in real life like Simon Cowell does on TV, we’d probably get punched in the face, not get paid mega-millions like he gets. Oh wait, I do act like him, and I even get paid for it — though nowhere nearly as much as he does. But here’s a surprise (yeah, like people as intelligent as you and I didn’t know this already): Simon suffers from depression. Has so for a very long time, depending on whom you believe (what, you don’t trust me?). No, say it ain’t so! Good old cheerful Simon? Who would have guessed? He always seems so happy about life and friendly to boot.
Gee I hope my sarcasm isn’t lost on you. Cowell probably isn’t the only celeb to suffer from depression. My fairly extensive experience in interacting with creative types suggests that they have a lot of self-doubt, so I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot more celebs suffer from depression as well. But they don’t go around acting like a-holes, making people feel like crap, and getting paid for it. Oh wait, they often do. Ok, never mind. Oh, and whadda ya want bet that good old cheerful, kind Dr. Phil suffers similar ailments?
Anyway, as for the suggestion that Simon is bored by American Idol, are you really truly surprised? I mean, there really are a lot untalented people on the show. It hurts my brain to watch a single episode, at least during the beginning of any given season. In fact, all my sarcasm aside, this is probably why Simon is such a jerk to so many American Idol hopefuls. Apparently he was pretty blunt to Oprah about being bored and leaving American Idol. His replacement hasn’t been named yet and doesn’t want to be replaced with another Ellen (the suggestion being she doesn’t know much about music).

Oprah is going to have her last show today, and there’s supposed to be a big announcement – it’s probably about her plans for the future. She’s already said something about closing down The Oprah Winfrey Show but she held back, saying that the announcement will be made during the last airing. Hold on to your seats tonight, ladies and gentlemen! Oh, and bring lots of tissue – I have a feeling you’re gonna need it.

“Going Rogue: An American Life,” is the title of Sarah Palin’s memoir, which is due to be released on November 17. A day before that, however, she is going to sit down with the talkshow queen, Oprah Winfrey. This should be a very interesting rendezvous to say the least!

The Queen of talk shows is being sued by Corrine Gehrls, a flight attendant in a private jet that Oprah used to take. The story is that Gerhls was accused of having sex with the pilot while Oprah and her bunch were fast asleep. Gehrls and the pilot passed a polygraph test, but they were still fired from their posts. No one has heard of Mackenzie Phillips and her brood for a long time but suddenly, she’s back in the limelight. She released a memoir this week, where she claims that she had an incestuous relationship with late dad, John Phillips. Those from the older generation would associate that name with the group The Mamas & The Papas. Mackenzie’s stepmoms all deny her claims, while her sister Chynna thinks it’s true. To her credit, Mackenzie has caught Oprah’s attention.

Oprah’s show is normally shot in Chicago but this Friday, the crew is going to Central Park. Viewers will be treated to various guests including Mariah Carey, who is scheduled to sing a single from her new album “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.” I wonder why the queen of talk shows suddenly had the urge to go to the park?

The diva is making her comeback, and she is dishing out details on her volatile relationship with Bobby Brown. In a recent interview with Oprah, Whitney revealed how, on one occasion, Bobby Brown spit on her and she made him bleed. Their daughter was watching the whole time. Talk about messed up, huh? I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I would want to share this with the whole world!

Oprah seems to be a favorite for celebrity critics these days. First it was Chris Brow, now it’s Rev. Wright. Remember President Obama’s ex-pastor was interviewed by TMZ and he said that Oprah is merely an entertainer and that she cannot really help people because she doesn’t know anything about social policy. What’s with these people?

Does Chris Brown have a death wish? The way he’s been acting, you’d think so! His recent statements about Oprah’s feature on domestic violence have been spreading like wildfire. So what did he say?
“I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face. I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could’ve been more helpful, like, ‘Okay, I’m going to help both of these people out.’”
Does he really think that was a smart thing to say?
