Citing irreconcilable differences Michael C. Hall and his dexter co-star and wife Jennifer Carpenter called it quits a few days ago and now we’ve learned that it was Carpenter who first headed to court to dissolve the marriage.
The celebrity couple were married on December 31, 2008 and will continue to work together as their show enters a sixth season.
In the meantime, Hall has been nominated for yet another Golden Globe, his fifth in as many years and a Screen Actors Guild nod also came his way on Thursday.

Good news for Dexter fans. Various Hollywood blogs and websites have announced that Michael C. Hall has fully recovered from cancer.
Last January he officially admitted to the public that he was battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which was discovered in a treatable and curable stage. Last month, Dexter’s executive producer happily announced: “Michael’s in full remission… He’s in great shape and is getting his energy back. We are all very excited to get back to work. The guy is incredibly courageous and worked hard all through last season despite being sick. He’s an amazing human being and actor. It was scary, but the show will go on.”
The 39-year-old actor cannot wait to get back to working full-time. He will start shooting Dexter in May, and the fifth season of the hit TV series will premiere in September.
Glad to have you back, Michael!

His fans are pleased to know that he’s getting better. The 39-year-old Dexter actor, who revealed just last January that he’s battling cancer, is on his way to recovery.
Michael C. Hall told US Weekly, “I’m great on the health front. I’ve had my second to last treatment and there’s one more to go on March 17.”
Turns out he was secretly battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last year and came out in the open about his cancer sometime in January. When he accepted his Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Drama, he wore a hat to hide his hair loss from chemotherapy.
The photo above was taken in February and shows a more cheerful and healthy-looking Michael. Get well soon, Michael!

The Dexter actor was all smiles at the recent Golden Globe Awards as he accepted the award for best actor in a drama. It was his first public appearance since he revealed a few days ago that he is battling cancer.
The 38-year-old revealed last week that he has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, but it was discovered in a treatable and curable stage. His spokesman, Craig Bankey, said that the actor’s cancer is in remission and he will continue scheduled treatments.
Congratulations on winning the award, Michael, and we’re hoping for your speedy recovery!
