While I’m not a fan of Justin Bieber’s music, I’m a big fan of the way the young 16-year-old star has been giving to charity and convincing others to give as well.
For his 17th birthday on Tuesday Bieber is asking his fans to donate money to the Charity: Water which strives to bring clean water to developing countries.
Bieber would like to raise $1,000 for every year he’s been on this planet, a total of $17,000.
On the charities own website Bieber wrote:
“Together, we’ve made a big difference for many causes. Did you know that about 4,500 kids die each day from waterborne disease? By building clean water projects for villages that need them, we can prevent this!
I want to make my birthday matter this year — let’s make it so more kids can grow up to have a 17th birthday like me. Join me to make a change.”

Ellen Degeneres tweeted that she would love a lock of Justin Bieber’s recently cut hair so she could use it to raise money for charity. Apparently Bieber heard her pleas, appearing on her talk show with a box holding some of his famous locks.
Bieber told Ellen:
“Yes, it’s really my hair,” while adding that he’s giving away “pieces” of his hair to various friends so they can auction it off for charities.
Along with his hair, Bieber signed the glass box containing his hair before handing it over to Ellen. Money from his hair will go to benefit Gentle Barn, an organization that trains therapy animals for children in need.

He may have been robbed as the “Best New Artist” at this years Grammy Awards, but Bieber did manage to pick up a recent award, taking home the most valuable player title at this years NBA Celebrity All-Star Game.
Bieber managed eight points with four assists and two rebounds during his teams 54-49 loss. Bieber was playing for the losing West coast side of the ball and missed a crucial 3-pointer with 30 second left in the game that would have tied the score and at least forced some overtime play.
Bieber’s team was coached by none other than Magic Johnson, but even his knowledge of the game couldn’t fend off the Eastern players who were led on the court by Scottie Pippen.

If you’ve been following the career of Justin Bieber you would almost certainly think he was a shoe-in for the “best new artist” Grammy at this years awards show, after all he’s sold millions of albums, has fans around the world and heck even his hairdo has become a pop phenomenon, however that wasn’t enough to keep Esperanza Spalding from robbing the Biebs of the award.
Esperanza took the title at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards with her jazzy songs and bass playing abilities, proving that sometimes even the Academy wants “real” musicians to take home top honors.
Kanye West didn’t go all Taylor Swift at this show either, saying of the “Best new artist” nod:
“Damn… I can’t find the words to explain how I feel about the best new artist award… Don’t wanna say the wrong thing.”

Wow, Alfred E. Neuman, better known as the Mad Magazine guy does a pretty good Justin Bieber imitation on the magazines Feb. 16, 2011 issue.
Speaking about the cover MAD editor-in-chief John Ficarra told the Associated Press:
“That was probably the highlight of his career and being on the cover of MAD is the lowlight. We like to do what we call Zeitgeist covers,” while adding, “When we found that his movie was debuting just about the same time we would be coming with the issue, we knew he’d be all over the place. He’ll hate it and buy every copy, and it will be a sellout. Or, conversely, Bieber won’t even notice and we’ll probably sell three copies of the issue.”

The company didn’t sugar coat why they chose Bieber with marketing chief Drew Panayiotou revealing:
“Justin Bieber is the biggest star out there, but that’s not why he’s in the spot,” and “He symbolically represents something important to the brand message.”

Justin Bieber’s plans to open a boutique in Los Angeles will not move forward.
The boutique, according to the 16-year-old singers publicist would have sold a variety of items with the Bieber name, including skateboards, shoes, fragrances and even lollipops. The store would also have meant more shelf space for the Bieber nail polish line.
The store which Biebers people simply said has “fallen through” would have been located at The Grove an outdoor shopping complex located in Los Angeles.
Teen singing sensation Justin Bieber is set to return to his role as a troubled teen on the hit CBS series CSI.

Are you going to be tuning in for this episode. As a fan of the show I’ll probably watch, but I couldn’t stand Bieber’s first appearance.

Justin Bieber graces the cover of Vanity Fair’s Feb. 2011 issue where he talks about being a regular kid and a big star.
Bieber told VF:
“It’s hard to really balance myself. A regular kid, if he catches the flu, he just gets to go home. But I can’t do that…. Everything is important. But, you know, my sanity is important, too. Even if I’m angry, I’ll just put a smile on my face and fake it. I don’t often fake it—what’s me is me….I know I have to give up a lot of myself, or a lot of a private life.”
