No one’s surprised by the results of the first elimination round of “Dancing with the Stars.” Ron Artest (also known as Metta World Peace) and partner Peta Murgatroyd got booted out.
So long, Metta-Peta—but who’s next? We think Chaz Bono’s going to be around for a long time. He can dance decently, but that’s not the point: the producers know that he’s got the viewer’s sympathy. Heck, a judge even called him and Lacy Schwemmer “cute and cuddly.” Clearly the man can do no wrong.
David Arquette seems to be holding his own, too, staying energetic and enthusiastic despite having a generally crappy year. (Ex wife Courteney Cox and daughter Coco were there to cheer him on, though.)
Now J.R. Martinez was hot, though: the former war vet and soap star had both grace and technical skill. Chynna Phillips did well too, and she and J.R. got the top spots for the first round. Ricki Lake, Hope Solo, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Derek Hough also performed quite well. Kristin Cavalleri, a crowd favorite, delivered a pretty decent cha cha. Rob Kardashian? Well let’s just say that like Kim before him, he sucks at dancing. And Elisabetta Canalis’s only saving grace was her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy (yep, brother of Maksim)!

Elin Nordegren, the ex-wife of golf superstar Tiger Woods may join the 12th season cast of Dancing With The Stars, a cast that will be announced during Monday's The Bachelor season finale.
While she has turned down various offers to star in her own reality TV series, it's said that producers approached the 31-year-old mother and The National Inquirer says in their March 7 edition that she is seriously considering the opportunity.
According to the tabloid:
“Elin has turned down several reality TV offers, but she thinks Dancing would be a lot of fun, and she especially loves the contestants’ snazzy outfits…Elin works out at home all the time, and she’s in great shape.”

Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre may be spending his retirement dancing around a different type of stage, specifically that of TV series Dancing With The Stars.
It's being reported that Favre has joined Jodie Sweetin, Vince Neil and Mischa Barton for season 12 of DWTS.
The announcement, if true, will be made when ABC reveals their newest dancing lineup during the Feb. 28 finale for The Bachelor.

Todd Palin, husband of ex-Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin is being considered for a spot on the next season of Dancing With the Stars, it will be the 11th season for the popular celebrity dance show.
A source close to the show told E! Online:
“They want him big time,” adding, “They’d love Sarah, but they don’t think that will ever happen, so why not go for the dad.”
Bristol Palin, Todd's daughter, took second place this past season, despite singer Brandy receiving perfect scores from the judges during the "final three" voting round. The single mother, considered one of the worst competitors on the show was helped along by a rabid fan base for the single mother.
Also up for the show? Meghan McCain, daughter of Senator John McCain.
What do you think about DWTS producers injecting so many politicians and politicians relatives into the show? They should call it Dancing With Politicians Relatives.

Jennifer Grey will soon undergo surgery to fix the ruptured disc she suffered when competing on the top rated TV show Dancing With The Stars.
In spite of her injury Grey, 50, and her partner Derek Hough, won last weeks DWTS finale.
She says of the procedure:
“It’s just going be like a little surgery where they take out the ruptured disc thing, and you know, it won’t be a big deal,” while adding, “Compared to the other surgeries I had on my neck, my doctor says it won’t be a big deal. I’ll be home that night.”

Bristol Palin said on her Friday appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” that she isn’t a Dancing With The Stars diva as has been reported lately.
In fact Palin says the only thing she has ever asked for while practicing with partner Mark Ballas was a velcro attached mic pack so she wouldn’t have to wear it around her belt loop.
According to UsMagazine.com she’s also been taking potshots at her on again off again ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston with whom she has a 2-year-old-son, Tripp.
She said of Levi “He’s changed. Night and day, definitely,” adding “The guy I fell in love with was a hard-working Alaskan man that didn’t want to wear straight-legged jeans and get chased by Radar.” Read the rest of this entry »

Bristol Palin will be performing on Dancing With The Stars Season 11 and for her partner she has drawn Mark Ballas who helped Shawn Johnson win the Mirrorball during season 9.
Bristol is the daughter of Governor abandoning Sarah Palin, but is most famous for having a child out of wedlock while underage. Bristol appeared on Good Morning America today with Ballas to talk about the show.
“I was excited to jump on board and be a part of something that’s fun… be in a whole new environment,” she explained. “I want people to see this side of me, my work ethic, put my personality into this… I am trying to coordinate myself and get some rhythm. This is going to just be an awesome experience.”

Listen up kids, if you want to become famous in America all you need to do is have a child as a teenager out of wedlock and have a famous politician parent, at least that’s the message ABC is sending by casting Bristol Palin, daughter of Sarah Palin for the 11th season of their hit show Dancing With The Stars.
Palin is not a dancer, however she told PopEater that she’s looking forward to living in L.A. for a while, a move that will of course include her son Tripp. Sarah Palin is also expected to make the trip and sit in the front row to cheer her daughter on.
According to a source close to Palin:

I always thought if Kirstie Alley was going to join the cast of any reality TV show it would be Dance Your Ass Off the reality TV show that gets people to lose weight through dance, instead she’ll be on the 11th season of Dancing With the Stars.
In Touch Weekly is reporting that she’ll be partnered with Maksim Chmerkovskiy who was last partnered with ESPN reporter Erin Andrews during season 10.
For Maksim’s sake, I hope there isn’t many lifts during their routines because while Alley lost a bunch of weight on Jenny Craig, she quickly gained most of it back just a short time later.

ABC’s hit dancing reality series Dancing With The Stars is being invaded by the Jersey Shore, specifically by Mike Sorrentino, better known as The Situation on the networks hit TV series about Guido’s, drinking and abs.
According to OK! Magazine Sorrentino will appear on the 11th season of DWTS, where he’ll perform such dances as the foxtrot and hip hop numbers. Perhaps this foray into hip hop will go better than the release of his lousy rap single.

The British Singer Cheryl Cole could soon be gracing American audiences this fall on the hit TV show So You Think You Can Dance.
Cole has been recently linked to DWTS dancer Derek Hough and was approached by network bosses who want to pair her with Hough on the next installment of the show.
Hough is featured in the singers newest video Parachute and producers believe they can capture the couple’s chemistry to add a new layer to the show.
Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough won last seasons show.

Hot on the heels of Betty White’s hosting appearance on Saturday Night Live, it appears that she’s in demand, and that Dancing With the Stars (DWtS) wants her to come dancing.
Am I overreacting or are they crazy? Ms Betty is 88 1/2 years old (her joke from SNL). Do the producers at DWtS know anything about bone loss as people age, or are they only seeing audience numbers and the resulting dollar signs from sponsorships? Some of the dance sequences are far too vigorous, and even the party-happy Ms Betty might not be able to handle the workouts or keep up with younger contestants.
Excuse the morbidity, but I’d like to see her alive for her role in the new Hot in Cleveland sitcom. Some things just aren’t meant to be, and for her sake, I hope that she won’t do Dancing With the Stars next season, except maybe as a special guest host? That could work, and she could do one dance.

Dancing With The Stars Season 10 has finally announced the 11 celebrities who will vie for the big trophy. Drum roll, please!
The names are: actor Alden Turner, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, footballer Chad Ochocinco, sportscaster Erin Andrews, figure skater Ivan Lysacek, reality star Jake Pavelka, reality star Kate Gosselin, performer Nicole Scherzinger, TV host Niecy Nash, actress Pamela Anderson, and actress Shannen Doherty.
My money’s on Nicole Scherzinger. I don’t even know why she’s part of the roster. She’s been a professional dancer and performer for years. Doesn’t that make her overqualified? Hey, at least I can win some money by betting early.

This guy knows how to dance, at least inside the Octagon. He’s doing a different kind of dance these days, though – Dancing with the Stars – and he says that he’s going to stop drinking cold turkey since he doesn’t want it to mess up his training for the show. I think I will watch DWTS just to see Chuck do his thing.

Kristi Yamaguchi made a name for herself for her grace and athletic prowess on ice, but can the Olympic star take the gold in this new season of Dancing with the Stars?
She’s up against tough competition but we guess that no matter what happens, this gig beats joining Disney on Ice any day.
