Filipina singing sensation Charice Pempengco will soon be walking the halls of McKinley High.
The singer will join the cast of Glee with a recurring role on the second season of the Fox comedy-musical.
Charice has been called the next Celine Dion by industry analysts and fans alike and her voice should add a whole new reason to watch the show.
It also doesn’t hurt Glee that Charice has become an internet sensation, racking up millions of video views.

Her first official US single is already gaining a huge momentum. Charice’s “Pyramid” climbed from #46 to #38 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club list on its third week.
There are four versions of the song—the album version featuring Iyaz and three remixes by DJs Barry Harris, Jonathan Peters, and Dave Aude.
Better known as Charice Pempengco in her homeland Philippines, this 17-year-old singing sensation gained popularity through Youtube and after appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Oprah.
She’s released two albums in the Philippines, and has had two singles on the Billboard Top 50—this month’s “Pyramid” and 2009’s “Note to God.”
A lot of people are comparing Charice to R&B singer Jojo, with the high notes she’s hitting. I guess it’s also because Jojo’s second album The High Road had the song “Note to God”, the same single that Charice released last year.
Who do you think is a better singer?
