Cameron Diaz Bought Marijuana From Snoop Dogg

Cameron Diaz On Lopez Tonight

In her new movie Bad Teacher Cameron Diaz plays a pot smoking teacher and apparently the “pot smoking” part isn’t too far from the truth.

During her recent appearance on Lopez Tonight the actress admitted that not only did she buy pot in high school, but that she purchased that marijuana from fellow classmate Snoop Dogg.

Diaz told George Lopez:

“We went to high school together, he was a year older than me. He was very tall and skinny and wore lots of ponytails in his hair and I’m pretty sure I got weed from him. I had to have!”

Today's high profile Hollywood couple breakup is brought to us my Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez. The couple according to Life & Style Magazine have called it quits after seven months off the market.

Celebrific Screen Scene, May 21, 2010

There aren't lot of new films opening this week, possibly because it's hard to compete with blockbusters like Iron Man 2, Robin Hood, and others. IMDB lists four new relases, and get more details from their profile pages, which I've linked to from each movie's title.

New Releases

  • Shrek Forever After. Voices: Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy. Directed by Mike Mitchell. This might be one for the family. This fourth Shrek animated film is said to be the final one in the series, but there'll be a Puss in Boots spin-off. For me, the first one was fun, but I had no interest after the second. At this point, I think they're beating a dead horse. Or in this case, donkey? Oh and if you're planning to take the family to see this, be warned that adults will be charged as much as $20 per ticket for the IMAX 3D version.
  • MacGruber. Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, Val Kilmer and many others. Directed by Jorma Taccone. This comedy is a spin-off of a series of skits on Saturday Night Live that spoofs the MacGyver adventure TV series that ran from 1985-92. The MacGruber tries to be innovative and ingenious in getting out of difficult and dangerous situations, but is usually either too dumb or too distracted to succeed. The SNL skits always end with the building MacGruber is in blowing up. Not sure how this show will translate to film, and personally it's my least favorite SNL skit, but I'd go see it for Val Kilmer as the villian Dieter Von Cunth, or the very versatile Kristen Wiig, who is one several SNL cast members or alumni that are in the movie.
  • Holy Rollers [LA/NY]. Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Bartha, Danny A. Abeckkaser. Directed by Kevin Asch.
  • Solitary Man [limited]. Michael Douglas, Susan Sarandon, Jesse Eisenberg. Directed by Brian Koppleman and David Levien.

Also Playing

Still in theaters are recent releases Iron Man 2, Robin Hood, Letters to Juliet, Just Wright, How to Train Your Dragon (animated), A Nightmare on Elm Street, Date Night, The Backup Plan, Furry Vengeance, Clash of the Titans, and others.

Upcoming Movies/ Roles

  • Frank Marshall will direct The Hades Factor, based on a Robert-Ludlum inspired novel similar to the 'Bourne' books and movies. [Pajiba]
  • James Franco will star in a prequel to the Planet of the Apes series, Rise of the Apes, which is opens Jun 24, 2011. [Deadline, E! Online]
  • Matthew Vaughn will direct X-Men: First Class [Jun 3, 2011].
  • Phll Alden Robinson will script an untitled J.J. Abrams project, based on a Wired magazine article about the world's biggest diamond heist. Robinson wrote and directed Field of Dreams. [Heat Vision]
  • Ellen Page will star in Freeheld, based on the Oscar-winning documentary of the same name. [Hollywood Reporter]
  • Drew Barrymore will follow up her directorial debut of Whip It by directing Surrender Dorothy, a Wizard of Oz sequel. [Pajiba]
  • There might be two versions of 20,000 Leagues under the sea. One from Disney and the other from Fox.

Screen Scene Tidbits

  • Paul Greengrass is focusing on Treasure Island and will not direct the 3D remake of Fantastic Voyage. [Deadline]
  • The cast of the upcoming Twilight: Breaking Dawn vampire flick, based on the book series, asked for between $1.5-4M each but will get up to $1.25M. [Deadline, THR Esq]
  • If you saw the first Sex and the City film, you know how full of product placement it was, as well as that Carrie Bradshaw uses a Mac computer. Not this time. In the second SatC movie, out May 27th, she'll be using an HP laptop because of a partnership deal with Hewlett-Packard. [PopEater, CeleBitchy]

Enjoy your movie-watching weekend.

Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz: Together Again

…for a movie, that is. The former flames are working on their first project ever since they split up in 2007.

Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz on the set of the movie Bad Teacher , shooting on location in Los Angeles

According to IMDB, Bad Teacher is a comedy about a junior high teacher (played by Cameron) who, after being dumped by her sugar daddy, begins to woo a naïve colleague (played by Justin)—a move that pits her against a well-loved teacher. |

Ex-Lovers Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake Take To The Set!

Much hype surrounds the reunion between the two former lovers and all eyes will be on how Justin and Cameron will interact and potentially reignite romantic flames while filming. The two seriously dated for four years, and Justin is now with Jessica Biel.

Shooting for the movie began last weekend in LA, and the two exes seem very professional and in good spirits. Also on set is comedian Jason Segel, and so far the only body language we see between Timbo and Cameron spells “hard work.”

The stars usually save their best threads for the biggest awards show of the year—The Academy Awards. See which women stood out in the Oscar 2010 red carpet.

Spring is coming! Rachel McAdams’ pastel-patterned Elie Saab Haute couture gown took the attention away from the dark, monochrome hues of the lingering Winter season.

The 40-year-old singer/actress still has her famous curves. J.Lo flaunted them in this Armani Privé gown with a dramatic train, Ferragamo pumps, and Cartier diamonds.

Oscars 2010 - RED CARPET
I’m not usually a fan of celebs who wear black in the red carpet, because it’s such a safe, cliché choice, but Carey Mulligan made me do a 360 with her black Swarovski-encrusted Prada.

It’s great to see actresses stay away from solid-hued dresses for change. Maggie Gyllenhaal, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, wore a brushstroke-print Dries Van Noten gown accessorized with vintage Fred Leighton jewels.

82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals
Cameron Diaz opted for old Hollywood glamour in this Oscar de la Renta gown matched with Cartier jewels.

82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals
Presenter Kristen Stewart surprised red carpet critics with her feminine custom-made dress. This Monique Lhuillier navy trumpet gown was a refreshing change from Kristen’s usually boyish/rocker outfits.

Ruffled would be an understatement for Vera Formiga’s choice of gown. The Best Supporting Actress nominee’s Marchesa gown stood out from the crowd.

82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals
Diane Kruger was Chanel’s muse that night. Her ruffled Chanel Haute Couture Collection gown accessorized with Chanel jewelry gave her look a vintage vibe.

82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals
I loved Best Supporting Actress nominee Anna Kendrick’s flow-y Elie Saabe Couture gown. She accessorized well with her Judith Leiber clutch and Kwiat diamonds.

82nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals
Elizabeth Banks’ glamorous gown was no gray area. Her sparkling Fred Leighton jewelry looked great with her ruffled Versace number.

Demi Moore’s fashion choices are usually hit-or-miss. What a relief to see that this night was a hit. Her Atelier Versace gown flaunted her fab figure.

Yet Another Comic Spy Movie

I’ve been ecstatically waiting to see Steve Carell and Tina Fey’s Date Night, so when I saw the trailer of Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz’s Knight And Day, I couldn’t help but give an unimpressed smirk.

Knight And Day is coming out on July 2…

…while Date Night is coming out on April 9.

Another spy movie spoof? While Tom Cruise is the king of me-against-the-world action flicks, the tandem of Steve Carell and Tina Fey will undoubtedly reign the comedy department. And since both spy movies are aiming for the funnies, my money’s on Date Night.
