On December 2 Aretha Franklin underwent surgery for an undisclosed ailment and now we have learned that she has returned home after a “highly successful” surgery.
Reports have circulated that Franklin is suffering from pancreatic cancer, however her reps have refused to comment on her medical situation.
Franklin underwent surgery at a Detroit hospital and was released earlier in the week.
In a statement Franklin said of her return home:
“I’ve been at home for almost three days now,” adding “My family and friends who brought me home are taking great care of me. I also have a private nurse who visits on a daily basis.”

Aretha Franklin on Thursday announced that she would be canceling all concert and personal appearance through May 2011 to deal with an undisclosed medical condition.
Franklin's announcement arrives just several days after the 68 year old singer was released from a Detroit hospital after a brief stay for an undisclosed condition.
It won't be the first time Aretha Franklin has recently canceled concerts in August she had to bail from two free concerts in Brooklyn after breaking her ribs during a fall in the shower.
At this time no disclosure of her recent medical condition has been given.

Legendary singer Aretha Franklin took a tumble in her bathtub this week, breaking several ribs.
Franklin was scheduled to perform at Wingate Field on August 9th and then at Asser Levy Seaside Park in Cony Island on August 12.
Both performances were part of an initiative started by Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz and both have been canceled.
Aretha's reps told the Associated Press that the fall has also caused her to experience abdominal pain and that the shows will be rescheduled once she's feeling better.
