Alicia Keys “Digital Death” Campaign Raises $1 Million

The “Digital Death” campaign which singer Alicia Keys setup to raise $1 million for World AIDS Day has reached it’s $1 million mark. As part of the campaign various celebrities appeared in “dead” poses and abandoned their social media accounts, promising to stay offline until $1 million was raised.
While the plan was to have followers and fans on Twitter and Facebook help raise the money, only $500,000 was needed from the public after pharmaceutical billionaire Stewart Rahr stepped up and donated $500,000 of his own money.

Kim Kardashian and Alicia Keys are the two newest celebrities to lend themselves to the "Digital Death" campaign. Digital Death hopes to raise $1 million for World AIDS Day fundraising.
So far other celebrities participating in the campaign include:
Lady Gaga, Swizz Beatz, Justin Timberlake, Khloe Kardashian, Ryan Seacrest, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Hudson and the cast of MTV’s The Buried Life.
The name "Digital Death" is straight forward, it means the celebrities taking part will stop using social media until $1 million has been raised to help people suffering from AIDS in Africa and India.
Through Friday $200,674 had been raised, that's $66,891 for each day of the campaign, which would result in 11 days of active campaigning at current numbers.

Alicia Keys Gives Birth To A Healthy Baby Boy

Alicia Keys and her husband Kaseem Dean, better known as Swizz Beats, have given birth to a healthy baby boy named Egypt Dauode Dean.
The baby boy was born at New York's St. Luke Roosevelt on Thursday night. Egypt is the first child of Alicia Keys and the third for her super producer hubby (although he claims only 2 of those children are his).
Beatz tweeted about the birth:
“I’m so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life wowwwwww!”
Alicia Keys Puts Long Island Mansion Up For Sale

R&B Singer Alicia Keys has put her Long Island mansion up on the market for almost $4 million. Keys and superproducer Swizz Beatz are getting ready to welcome their first child into the world and it looks like they want that child to arrive in a new pad.
The house, listed as a seven-bedroom estate on the North Shore of Long Island is on the market with a $3.85 million price tag. The 9,000 square foot mansion was built in 1980 and was purchased by Keys in 2004. She has lived in the home since that time.

And what a smashing night it was! Fans who purchased tickets to Wednesday night’s concert at Madison Square Garden, New York City, were more than satisfied with the 29-year-old’s show.
She even brought a few friends along for the ride. Beyoncé surprised the crowd when she came out to perform “Put It In A Love Song” with Alicia Keys.
Jay-Z was also there to perform their massive hit duet, “Empire State of Mind.”
Other guest singers were Robin Thicke (above) and Jermaine Paul (below) who serenaded the crowd with their singles.

Beyonce and Alicia Keys Take Over Rio

I envy these girls. Not only are they shooting a new music video together, they are also spending the week partying carnival-style at Rio de Janeiro.
According to RCA Music Group’s publicist Sheri Ladner, Beyonce and Alicia Keys are shooting the official music video for “Put It In A Love Song,” a track from Alicia’s latest album, The Element of Freedom.
That isn’t the only agenda on their list. The two will also be attending a ball at the Copacabana Palace Hotel with model Kate Moss, who will be flying in Brazil soon.

Lil Mama Does A Mini-Kanye

Why would anyone want to be called Lil Mama? Anyway, Lil Mama is her name and she did a little Kanye at the VMA. Poor little girl, no one even really noticed – at least no one talked about it except for TMZ, who must have been feeling sorry for her.
You might not have noticed, but Lil Mama jumped onto the stage at the end of the performance of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. It’s sad that she dared do something like that. It’s sadder that no one noticed.
