Relax All My Children fans, your beloved Soap Opera and the world of Pine Valley, PA it occupies is not going anywhere. That announcement comes from ABC who but an end to rumors today that the ABC Daytime show was ending it’s 40+ year run.
Yes it’s true that ABC according to insiders wants to reduce their daytime lineup from three hours to two, but they have said that AMC is safe, despite delivering consistently lowered Nielsen ratings in recent weeks. However, the network also cut show costs last year by moving the shows production from New York City to Los Angeles.

James Van Der Beek is returning to TV as part of a new ABC Sitcom titled Don’t Trust The Bitch in Apt. 23.
Van Der Beek’s character is a fictionalized version of himself, sort of like Neil Patrick Harris when he appeared in the Harold & Kumar movies.
Premiering this fall the series will star June (Dreama Walker) an optimistic and honest girl who has no choice but to move in with Chloe (Krysten Ritter) who is amoral and the best friend of Van Der Beek.

Annie Ilonzeh has been cast as the first angle in the new Charlie’s Angels reboot.
The reboot, to air on ABC, is being produced by Sony Pictures TV and Flower Films, the company owned by Drew Barrymore. As I’m sure you will recall, Barrymore appears in both the 2000 and 2002 Charlie’s Angels films.
The new pilot takes place in Miami and will follow the same format as the original 70′s show with a mysterious voice, Charlie, leading the Angels on adventures.

Are you ready to watch the Bachelor combined with Survivor, if you are NBC has the show for you, there newly green lit, Love In The Wild.
For the show the premise is simple, ABC will put people in the wild then see who ends up connecting on a romantic level. Copying survivor contestants on the show will be put through various challenges.

Chelsea Handler’s book Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea is being turned into a weekly sitcom to be aired on NBC. The semi-autobiographical book will deal with the struggles of a twentysomething female.
According to DeadlineHollywood.com:
“The compilations of humorous essays about Handler’s everyday life, family, friends and romantic/sexual relationships will also be used as source material for stories in the TV project.”

The big green guy may soon be returning to network TV with rumors circulating that ABC wants to revive the Incredible Hulk franchise with a new live-action Hulk series.
According to Deadline.com, ABC and Marvel Entertainment are working together to develop the series which would debut in time for the Fall 2011 season.

ABC has pulled the plug on My Generation a new TV series that saw just two episodes air on the network, the cancellation was announced on Friday.
The “documentary-style” TV series surrounded a group of high school friends who are followed 10 years after graduation. The announcement follows the cancellation of FOX’s own freshmen show Lone Star.
According to Nielsen ratings, My Generation only managed 5.17 million viewers during it’s September debut, even though it was in the time slot just before Grey’s Anatomy. By the show’s second episode only 3.82 million viewers tuned in.

It’s official! The Hit ABC summer game show Wipeout which features contestants attempting to complete crazy obstacle courses has been renewed for a 4th season.
The Hollywood Reporter says of the new season:
“The next round of the series will feature two new obstacle courses, including a fresh “motivator” for the infamously difficult Big Balls, the classic sweeper with a new twist and obstacles such as the Lawn Mower and the Sky Scraper Slide…”

Former 7th Heaven star Beverley Mitchell has a new job, she’s joining the hit TV show The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Mitchell is replacing former Blossom star Mayim Bialik as the shows new school counselor on the hit ABC Family series. It’s still unclear if she’ll remain on the show, however her guest arc begins in January 2011.
Good for you Mitchell, you’ve come a long way since the days of Lucy Camden.

The British Singer Cheryl Cole could soon be gracing American audiences this fall on the hit TV show So You Think You Can Dance.
Cole has been recently linked to DWTS dancer Derek Hough and was approached by network bosses who want to pair her with Hough on the next installment of the show.
Hough is featured in the singers newest video Parachute and producers believe they can capture the couple’s chemistry to add a new layer to the show.
Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough won last seasons show.

Gay rights activists are all up in arms and their target is ABC. Everyone has heard of Adam Lambert’s stunts on stage at the AMAs, and we all know that ABC cancelled his appearance/performance after. They did, however, go through with an interview of Chris Brown – with a performance to boot. Now what’s wrong with this picture? Cancelling on a gay performer is okay and featuring a girlfriend beater is okay, too? Ummm…is it just me or is ABC calling the wrong shots?
