New Biopic In The Works: Jerry Garcia

The life of Grateful Dead singer and guitarist Jerry Garcia is coming to the silver screen with a new biopic that’s currently in the works.

Director Amir Bar-Lev, director of The Tillman Story has already signed on to direct the film which is still labeled as “in the works.”

The movie centers around the singers time with his band and is based off the script Robert Greenfield’s Dark Star: An Oral Biography on Jerry Garcia.

Beauty And The Beast 3D – Arrives In Theaters This August

Disney is preparing to release the cartoon version of Beauty And The Beast on DVD for the first time in 19 years, now they have also announced that the release will coincide with a re-release of the classic cartoon, this time in 3D.

Beauty And The Beast debuted in 1991 to rave reviews and huge box office numbers, it will be interesting to see how the movie does when it arrives in 3D form come August. Read the rest of this entry »

Dorothy In Wizard Of Oz 3D Has A Voice. Gleeks Rejoice!

Glee’s Lea Michele will voice Dorothy in the upcoming 3D animated adaptation of the 1939 classic The Wizard Of Oz.

The new movie, called Dorothy Of Oz was created by Roger S. Baum, the great-grandson of L. Frank Baum, creator of the Wonderful Wizard Of Oz.

The movie will also include a soundtrack by singer Bryan Adams. Other notable names include Dan Aykroyd as the Scarecrow, Kelsey Grammer as The Tin Man and James Belushi as the Cowardly Lion.

Dorothy Of Oz will be released sometime in 2012.
