Well, it looks like the case of the cell phone is finally getting somewhere. Remember last March when superfreak Naomi Campbell hit her maid in the head with a cell phone over some missing jeans?  I thought so, how can you forget that one? Well the case is till the break-a-break of dawn.
Apparently Naomi has plead guilty to the incident, by calling the incident an accident, I don’t know if I can even start to believe that load of indecent  incredulity. 36-year-old Campbell pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault (no big deal on that one, she has plenty of those under her belt, eh?) for hitting maid Ana Scolavino with a cell phone at her New York apartment March 2006.Â
Naomi tells Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Robert Mandelbaumto, “I threw a cell phone in the apartment. The cell phone hit Ana.”
“This was an accident because I did not intend to hit her.”
And this line of reasoning & maybe some cash under the table to maid Ana has given Campbell a new chance to come out of this a little less felony-ed. Originally the charges against Naomi were second-degree felony assault charges that could have stuck the superfreak with two to seven years in prison. But by pleading guilty, all Naomi has to do is pay Scolavino’s $363 medical bills, serve five days of community service & attend a two-day anger management course. Big whoop, I think I’ll “accidentally” hit someone in the head with a cell phone just for kicks if that’s all I’ll get.
While Campbell’s rep did not make a statement regarding the case, Naomi’s attorney David Breitbart stated, “I’m hopeful she can do the community service indoors.” Because she’s allergic to sunlight which causes her anger to rise & hit people in the heads with electronic devices?Â
You tell me- Did Naomi Campbell get off too lightly in the case of the brow-beating cell phone?
