Page Six is reporting that Katie Holmes has said thanks, but not thanks to an Oscar nomination for her role in the film Thank You for Smoking.

Sources close to Holmes revealed that Fox Searchlight Pictures wanted to add her name for an Oscar nomination but Holmes’ team “respectfully declined” the prestigious offer.  Ummm, why would you refuse your name to be included for an Academy Award, one would ask?

Apparently the respectable film caused a ruckus with Tom Cruise because of Katie’s nude scenes that were cut after just one screening.  Because they were so good or because it was so bad?  Either way, it really is too bad.  Silly Katie Holmes.
