Just days after crazypants Britney Spears shaved her head, photographers were able to catch up with ex-beau Justin Timberlake in West Hollywood & for a change, actually got the boy to say something.

When asked if he had heard if Britney had shaved her head bald, Timberlake reportedly looked a bit forlorn, but managed to state, “It was a smart choice, she is starting over, cleaning herself up. It was something you wouldn’t expect most people to do, so she is taking a chance.”

I’m betting he looked forlorn because he was trying to think of something nice to say about the hair travesty. When asked what he thought of the new look, Justin was more quick on the draw this time saying, “She looks amazing, very GI-Jane, she can pull off anything.”

Wow. Either Timberlake enjoys taunting the media with lies, or he’s a really, really, really good pal.

I think he’s just trying to be supportive of her; he’s just trying to make the situation not look as bad as it does. He’s saying she’s starting over, but the poor girl is having a meltdown. It’s like he’s trying to cover up what’s really going on. Apparently he’s trying to be there for her.
