Oscar-nominated actor Michael Clarke Duncan died at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday morning, after trying to recover from a heart attack in July.

It was Duncan’s fiancée Omarosa Manigault who found him unconscious and performed emergency CPR until paramedics arrived, but the actor never fully recovered from the myocardial infarction he suffered from the incident two months ago.

Michael Clarke Duncan is known for his deep commanding voice and his towering 325 pound physique. His massive frame got him a gig working as a bodyguard for actors Will Smith and Jamie Foxx until he hit it big in Hollywood.

He appeared in a number of popular films with Bruce Willis which includes the summer flick Armageddon, The Whole Nine Yards and Sin City. But it was his role as John Coffey in 1999′s The Green Mile that Michael was nominated for an Oscar for his performance.

His Green Mile co-star Tom Hanks released a heartfelt message: ‘I am terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike. He was the treasure we all discovered on The Green Mile. He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned.’

A devastated Omarosa Manigault was snapped in tears at the Los Angeles airport yesterday. The Apprentice star was set to wed Michael Clarke Duncan this January and start a family.

A grief-stricken Omarosa has this to say about Michael – ‘I am devastated. He was the love of my life.’
