25-year-old Simple Life star & Paris Hilton’s BFF, Nicole Richie, was arrested early Monday morning.  That’s not a good way to start off a new life, Nicole.

According to TMZ, Richie was spotted by police going down the wrong way down a freeway in Burbank, CA.  Ooops.  A little dangerous, Nic.  And a little stupid.  Nicole was finally pulled over by the cops & was found alone & talking on her cell phone.  Of course.  It makes perfect sense.  While driving the wrong way down a freeway in Burbank, one must also be talking to an undisclosed pal on the cell phone.  Duh. 

When pulled over, Nicole confessed to taking Vicodin & smoking a little pot before taking her wheels down to Burbank.  So, it looks like we’ll now be seeing Richie on the interstate picking up litter!  It’s a wonder she didn’t hurt anyone or herself.  Oh yeah, I guess she did hurt her pride a bit, huh?
