Neil Patrick Harris of Doogie Howser and How I Met Your Mother fame has announced via Twitter that he and partner David Burtka are expecting twins.

Harris Tweeted:

“So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy…”

David has twins from a past relationship.

It’s a good month for Harris who has been nominated for three Emmy awards for his role on How I Met Your Mother, a guest appearance on Glee and for his hosting role at the Tony Awards.
