Singer Katy Perry was taken to the hospital and received 17 stitches after she injured her leg while dancing at a MuchMusic Video Awards afterparty in Toronto, Canada.

Katy was at an ultra-exclusive club and according to onlookers was “overenthusiastic [while] dancing.” Perry was taken to the hospital in the early Monday morning hours.

She tweeted the incident and seemed to be in good spirits:

“17 stitches later… Don’t make fun of my dance moves tomorrow. That’s what got me here in the 1st place! Thanks for the souvenir Canada !”
